Mechanisms are provided to implement a privacy enhanced location service for determining a granularity of location information to return to a requestor computing device. The privacy enhanced location service receives, from a requestor computing device, a location query requesting location information for a subject. The privacy enhanced location service retrieves a selected subject privacy policy data structure, selected from a set of subject privacy policy data structures corresponding to the subject identified in the location query. The privacy enhanced location service applies the selected subject privacy policy data structure to location information associated with the subject to generate modified location information having a granularity of location information specified in the selected subject privacy policy data structure. The privacy enhanced location service transmits the modified location information to the requestor computing device.

Privacy enhanced location verification for improved transaction security

Embodiments herein describe a return network simulation system that can simulate changes in a retailer's return network to determine the impact of those changes. Advantageously, being able to accurately simulate the retailer's return network means changes can be evaluated without first making those adjustments in the physical return network. Doing so avoids the cost of implementing the changes on the return network without first being able to predict whether the changes will have a net positive result (e.g., a positive result that offsets any negative results). A retailer can first simulate the change on the return network, review how the change affects one or more KPIs, and then decide whether to implement the change in the actual return network. As a result, the retailer has a reliable indicator whether the changes will result in a desired effect.

Simulating a return network

A hypergraph is constructed based on historical shopping cart data. A node of the hypergraph corresponds to a shopping basket, and a hyperedge of the hypergraph corresponds to a unique product, the hyperedge connecting all nodes of the hypergraph representing baskets containing the unique product. A hypergraph partition algorithm identifies a cluster of shopping baskets represented in the hypergraph and determined to be similar to a given basket. Based on the cluster of shopping baskets a dual-level return prediction is performed. The dual-level return prediction includes predicting whether the given basket will be returned, and based on predicting that the given basket will be returned, predicting a probability that a product in the given basket will be returned. Based on predicting that the given basket will be returned, an ameliorative action is performed to reduce the probability.

A system, method and program product for authenticating a device. An authentication service is provided having: a data management system for periodically collecting and storing signature data from each of a set of registered devices, wherein the signature data includes a plurality of data points, and wherein at least one of the data points includes a device usage characteristic; a system for obtaining a temporal signature state (TSS) vector of a device in response to a transaction request from the device, wherein the TSS vector includes values for a selected subset of the data points forming the signature data; and an authenticator for comparing the TSS vector of the device with stored signature data in order to authenticate the device.

An embodiment of the invention provides a method for secure biometrics matching with split phase client-server matching protocol, wherein a first biometric input is received in an electronic device. The first biometric input is stored in the electronic device as a biometric profile; and, the biometric profile is sent to a server. An additional biometric input is received from a user in the electronic device; and, the additional biometric input is compared to the biometric profile stored in the electronic device to generate a local matching score. The additional biometric input is sent to the server. The local matching score and a remote matching score generated by the at least one server are compared; and, it is determined whether to authenticate the user based on the comparison of the local matching score and the remote matching score.

Secure biometrics matching with split phase client-server matching protocol

Parallel linguistic corpora used to train cognitive translation systems are built from robot plans. A collection of robot plans in various languages is analyzed in candidate pairings to see if any two plans are directed to the same task. If so, verbal instructions in different languages from the two plans (such as plan names) are assumed to have the same meaning, and are stored in association as part of the bilingual corpus. If each plan has multiple steps, the corresponding steps from the two plans can also be stored in association as part of the corpus. Robot plans are modeled as finite state automata having a plurality of links representing sensory states and a plurality of nodes representing motor actions, and the determination of plan similarity is based on a comparison of the two FSAs.

Using robot plans as parallel linguistic corpora

A simulator is configured to simulate the fulfillment of orders by nodes. Each node has an inventory of products and is capable of shipping the products to destinations in response to receipt of a corresponding order. The simulator divides the nodes into groups and assigns a different priority to each group based on input provided by a user to the simulator to generate an ordered sequence of priorities. The simulator maintains safety stock data corresponding to each node that indicates minimum quantities of the products required to be present at the corresponding node. The simulator selects a current priority of the sequence and next simulates a first group among the groups having the current priority fulfilling the orders for a given product among the products while a quantity of the given product at each of the nodes in the first group is below the minimum quantity in the corresponding safety stock data.

A method and system are provided. The method includes deriving a set of user attributes from an aggregate analysis of images and videos of a user. The deriving step includes recognizing, by a set of visual classifiers, semantic concepts in the images and videos of the user to generate visual classifier scores. The set of user attributes are derived by mapping the visual classifier scores to a taxonomy of semantic categories to be recognized in visual content. A system, method and computer program product for implementing a quiescent current leakage specific model into semiconductor device design and circuit design flows. The leakage model covers all device geometries with wide temperature and voltage ranges and, without the need for stacking factor calculations nor spread sheet based IDDQ calculations. The leakage model for IDDQ calculation incorporates further parasitic and proximity effects. The leakage model implements leakage calculations at different levels of testing, e.g., from a single device to a full chip design, and are integrated within one single model. The implementation is via a hardware definition language code or object oriented code that can be compiled and operated using a netlist of interest, e.g., for conducting a performance analysis.

The present disclosure provides a method of forming an electrical device. The method may begin with forming a gate structure on a substrate, in which a spacer is present in direct contact with a sidewall of the gate structure. A source region and a drain region is formed in the substrate. A metal semiconductor alloy is formed on the gate structure, an outer sidewall of the spacer and one of the source region and the drain region. An interlevel dielectric layer is formed over the metal semiconductor alloy. A via is formed through the interlevel dielectric stopping on the metal semiconductor alloy. An interconnect is formed to the metal semiconductor alloy in the via. The present disclosure also includes the structure produced by the method described above.

In one embodiment, a method includes: providing a structure having an n-type field effect transistor (NFET) region and a p-type field effect transistor (PFET) region; forming a mask over the PFET region to leave the NFET region exposed; performing dilute hydrogen-flouride (DHF) cleaning on the exposed NFET region to substantially lower an STI profile of the NFET region; and forming a silicon germanium (SiGE) channel in the PFET region after the performing of the DHF.

A field effect transistor includes a partial SiGe channel, i.e., a channel including a SiGe channel portion, located underneath a gate electrode and a Si channel portion located underneath an edge of the gate electrode near the drain region. The SiGe channel portion can be located directly underneath a gate dielectric, or can be located underneath a Si channel layer located directly underneath a gate dielectric. The Si channel portion is located at the same depth as the SiGe channel portion, and contacts the drain region of the transistor. By providing a Si channel portion near the drain region, the GIDL current of the transistor is maintained at a level on par with the GIDL current of a transistor having a silicon channel only during an off state.
