An electrical switching device for medium or high voltage circuits having at least a nominal contact arrangement, wherein the nominal contact arrangement includes at least a first nominal contact including a plurality of contact fingers forming a finger cage concentric with respect to a longitudinal axis, wherein the contact fingers are separated from one another by empty slots extending up to a free end of the contact fingers. The empty slots include first and second empty slots, wherein the second empty slots are shorter than the first empty slots, and wherein the contact fingers are grouped in groups, with the contact fingers of each group being separated by second empty slots and the contact fingers of adjacent groups being separated by first empty slots.

Electrical medium or high voltage switching device

A contact arrangement has a longitudinal axis and includes a first contact group with a first contact and a second contact and a second contact group with a third contact and a fourth contact. The first contact interacts electrically and mechanically with the third contact, and/or the second contact interacts electrically and mechanically with the fourth contact, for closing and opening the contact arrangement. At least one mechanical coupling is provided for transmitting an actuation force to the second contact group and thereby moving the second contact group. The at least one mechanical coupling is adapted to move the third and the fourth contact in such a way that their speeds differ along at least a portion of a travel path of the third contact or along at least a portion of a travel path of the fourth contact.

Electrical switching device with a triple motion contact arrangement

An electrical switching device including at least a nominal contact arrangement, the nominal contact arrangement at least a first nominal contact with a plurality of nominal contact fingers forming a finger cage concentric with respect to a longitudinal axis (z), and at least a mating second nominal contact. An arcing contact arrangement including a first arcing contact and a mating second arcing contact. An arcing contact finger including at its free end a first impact area in which a first contacting to the second arcing contact occurs when closing, the electrical switching device. The first impact area is formed by a first planar surface arranged at an inclination angle (&#x3b1;) larger than zero degrees with respect to the longitudinal axis (z).

Contact system

A DC current path for DC power transmission includes a switchable element. An inductance is connected in series to the switchable element. When an interrupt scenario is detected, a resonance circuit is connected in parallel to the series connection of the switchable element and the inductance for charging a capacitance of the resonance circuit. An open state of the switchable element is effected and the resonance circuit is connected in parallel to the switchable element. By means of such arrangement and method, favorable fast interrupt times can be achieved.

Circuit and method for interrupting a current flow in a DC current path

A gas-insulated type circuit breaker including a housing defining a gas volume for a dielectric insulation gas; a first arcing contact member and a second arcing contact member, wherein the first arcing contact member and the second arcing contact member are movable relative to each other along an axis; a first nominal contact member and a second nominal contact member, wherein the first nominal contact member and the second nominal contact member are movable relative to each other along the axis; and a first nominal contact shielding arrangement including an inner shield member and an outer shield member, wherein the inner shield member and the outer shield member are arranged coaxially about the axis. The first nominal contact member is arranged co-axially between the inner shield member and the outer shield member, and is movable relative to the inner shield member and to the outer shield member.

A DC current path for DC power transmission includes at least a first switching element and a second switching element connected in series. A resonance circuit is configured to be connectable in parallel to the series connection of the at least one first switching element and second switching element by means of a switch.
