A mobile phone may include a housing structure and a front cover assembly coupled to the housing structure and positioned over the battery. The front cover assembly may include a transparent cover defining at least a portion of a front exterior surface of the mobile phone and a display assembly coupled to the transparent cover and including a display element configured to produce graphical outputs visible through the transparent cover, a first conductive display cowling below a first region of the display element, and a second conductive display cowling below a second region of the display element and spaced apart from the first conductive display cowling, thereby forming a gap between the first conductive display cowling and the second conductive display cowling. The mobile phone may further include a battery positioned below the gap.

An integrated window for a photosensor for use in an electronic device has first and second transparent regions separated by an opaque region. The first transparent region allows a transmitter to emit light out of the housing of the electronic device and the second transparent region allows a receiver to receive light through the housing. The opaque region is disposed between the first and second transparent regions to isolate them from one another such that the transmitted light is isolated from the received light.

A portable electronic device includes a housing, a display at least partially within the housing, and a front cover and rear cover coupled to the housing. The rear cover defines a first portion of a rear exterior surface of the portable electronic device, a protrusion defining a sensor array region of the rear cover and a second portion of the rear exterior surface, and an internal surface opposite the second portion of the rear exterior surface. The portable electronic device also includes a sensor array mounted within the housing along the sensor array region and comprising a frame member coupled to the rear cover, a camera module positioned in the first container region, and a depth sensor module positioned in the second container region and attached to the internal surface of the rear cover.

An electronic device can include a housing defining a first aperture and at least partially defining an internal volume. An air permeable component can be disposed at the first aperture and the device can include a support component defining a second aperture within the first aperture and engaging the air permeable component. The support component can include a sidewall disposed in the first aperture and defining at least one notch.

A shield assembly can enclose an electronic component in a chamber of a mobile communication device. The shield assembly can include a chassis having a slot and a conductive rail adjacent to the slot. A covering can be mounted over the electronic component and coupled to the chassis via a spring contact disposed in the slot. The covering can include a shield element configured to cover a chamber enclosing the electronic component. The covering can further include a first tab connected to the shield element, and a second tab connected to the shield element and spaced apart from the first tab by a gap. A spring contact can be disposed in the gap and electrically connected to the shield element via at least one of the first tab and the second tab.
