Speaker mounting systems configured to assembly a line array coupled to a support are provided. The mounting systems generally include an engagement system having a hanger assembly with a boom arm including upper connection points. In a first speaker, the upper connection points can be operably coupled to the support. The line array can include a second speaker having an engagement system including a hanger assembly having a boom arm with upper connection points operably coupled to the lower connection points of the first speaker. The boom arm of the second speaker can be pivotably coupled to the second speaker such that the boom arm is adjustable between at least a first position, corresponding to a first splay angle between front faces of the first and second speakers, and a second position, corresponding to a second splay angle between the front faces of the first and second speakers.

A suspension system for a speaker line array is provided with a base to mount to a first speaker cabinet. A rail extends transversely from the base. A bar is mounted relative to the rail between a stowed position and an extended position, wherein the bar is biased away from a central portion of the base to the extended position to contact another speaker or a support. A locking mechanism is driven by a transmission to lock the bar in the stowed position.

An acoustic assembly may include acoustic emitting devices attached to an enclosure. The acoustic assembly may further include an acoustic horn for influencing sound emitted by one or more of the acoustic emitting devices. For example, the acoustic horn may influence a beamwidth of sound emitted by one of the acoustic emitting devices. As a further example, the acoustic horn may influence a first beamwidth of a first acoustic emitting device and a second beamwidth of a second acoustic emitting device in a crossover region between the first acoustic emitting device and the second acoustic emitting device. The acoustic horn may include a waveguide attached to at least one integrator. The at least one integrator may include at least one plug and at least one lens.

A method for installation of a line array of speaker assemblies is provided. At least two stacked speaker assemblies with suspension systems are provided. An installation splay angle between the at least two stacked speaker assemblies is selected, while the two stacked speaker assemblies are oriented at an initial splay angle. The suspension system of an uppermost speaker assembly of the at least two stacked speaker assemblies is connected to a support. The support is raised to lift the at least two stacked speaker assemblies, whereby the at least two stacked speaker assemblies pivot from the initial splay angle to the installation splay angle and form a line array.

Suspension system mechanism

A speaker frame, and corresponding speaker, may have tapered spokes that form a radial triangular pattern with an apex converging near the frame's mounting flange, for example, near tabs including mounting holes where the frame attaches to a speaker baffle. The tapered spokes may include a triangular cut-out region defining a pair of converging legs that converge at the mounting flange. The width, curvature, and the angle of the spokes may allow for a thin and lightweight configuration with uniformly distributed minimal stress.

Examples are disclosed for a waveguide for a loudspeaker, the waveguide including a first and second outer shell coupled to one another, and a first and second inner shell coupled to one another and positioned within an air gap between the first and second outer shells, a plurality of sound paths being formed between an exterior surface of the first inner shell and an interior surface of the first outer shell and between an exterior surface of the second inner shell and an interior surface of the second outer shell, each of the plurality of sound paths having an equal path length in a plurality of planes.

Loudspeaker acoustic waveguide

A speaker assembly rigging system is provided with a first frame and a second frame that is adapted to couple to the first frame. The system includes a cam and a link. The cam is pivotally connected to the first frame about a pivot point. The cam includes at least two cam surfaces, and each of the at least two cam surfaces are offset at a different radial distance from the pivot point corresponding to a splay angle. The link has a proximal end that is pivotally connected to the second frame and a distal end having a contact surface. The link extends from the second frame in a deployed position such that the contact surface engages one of the cam surfaces.

Rigging system for speakers

A speaker assembly is provided with a cabinet with laterally spaced apart side surfaces and a frame mounted to one of the side surfaces. The speaker assembly is also provided with a lever arm and a ratchet mechanism. The lever arm has a proximal end to connect to an upper support, a distal end with a plurality of teeth extending radially outward, and an intermediate portion pivotally connected to the frame for adjusting a splay angle of the cabinet relative to the upper support. The ratchet mechanism is coupled to the frame with at least two pawls each individually biased to engage at least one of the plurality of teeth to allow pivotal motion of the lever arm relative to the frame in a first direction and limit pivotal motion of the lever arm in a second direction that is opposite the first direction.

A suspension system is provided with a frame to mount to a side surface of a speaker cabinet with a plurality of apertures formed therethrough. The suspension system is also provided with a lever arm with a proximal end and a distal end that are both adapted to connect to an upper support. The lever arm also has an intermediate portion that is pivotally connected to the frame about a pivot axis with a plurality of arcuate slots formed through. Each arcuate slot is formed with an end stop that corresponds to a splay angle of the speaker cabinet relative to the upper support, and each slot aligns with one of the apertures to receive a pin. Whereby suspending the speaker cabinet from the upper support pivots the lever arm in a first direction until the pin engages the end stop.
