Drive-interface for a static electronic switch with controlled 'off'

A static conversion assembly comprises a serial connection of n apparatus each formed by the association of two converters (.DELTA.) of the type described in U.S. Pat. No. 4,330,819. Each control stage of a given apparatus (..) is adapted to furnish opposite control signals to the two controlled blocking static interrupters of each apparatus (.DELTA.). In addition, the assembly of control stages of the apparatus (.DELTA.) is driven by a centralized control unit (56) which provides a delay in the control signals of an apparatus (.DELTA.) with respect to the control signals applied to a preceeding apparatus in the serial arrangement thereof. In addition, a voltage distribution stage (51) is connected to the apparatus (..) in order to divide the applied voltage and apply only a fraction thereof to each interrupter.

Static semi-conductor electrical energy converter assembly

A static energy converter apparatus, having at least one converter .GAMMA. conforming to that described in U.S. Pat. No. 4,330,819, includes a supplementary output stage 21 adapted to produce an alternating current that changes direction upon each commutation of the controlled blocking static interrupters of the converter .GAMMA.. Stage 21 is such that the direction of the alternating current corresponds to the direction of circulation of current in the collector-emitter of each interrupter at the instant of commutation.

Static semi-conductor electrical energy converter apparatus

The invention relates to a static semi-conductor electrical energy converter. The converter is of the type comprising a power stage 5 provided with at least one power transistor 7, and a control stage 1 furnishing a control signal S.sub.C appropriate for the conversion to be carried out; according to the invention, each transistor is a transistor having a voltage V.sub.CEX greater than its voltage V.sub.CEO and is associated with an intermediate stage 4 for treatment of the control signal S.sub.C. This stage 4 is adapted to drive the base of the said transistor to guarantee operation thereof over a voltage range extending from 0 to V.sub.CEX thus making it possible to take advantage of the improved voltage V.sub.CEX of the said transistor. The invention is applicable in particular in the case of inverters adapted to convert a continuous electric voltage into an alternating electric voltage.

Static semi conductor electrical energy converter

Apparatus for stacking and storing a plurality of flat objects, such as letters. The apparatus includes at least one storage box and a loading device designed to transport the flat objects from a source and to project them into the interior of the box. The box and loading device are respectively positioned so that the flat objects are projected into the box at an incline with respect to its bottom and a portion of each object's leading edge impacts a stopping surface formed in one of the side walls of the box. This impact imparts a rotational couple to the object which brings the lower edge of the object into firm engagement with the box bottom. The object is then moved onto the stack of similar objects being formed in the box, either by gravity or an auxiliary device. In one preferred embodiment, relative movement is provided between the box and loading device so that the objects can be projected into the box at a point close to the top of the stack. Other embodiments provide for automatic feed of boxes past the loading device so that loading can be performed continuously.
