A procedure for scanning identifying badges for automotive vehicle comprising an identification device designed for the remote interchange of data with the identifying badges. The badge scanning comprises the repeated transmission, by the identification device, of identification requests for the attention of the badges. This procedure comprises the steps of detection () of a triggering event out of a predetermined set of triggering events; execution () of a preliminary test following the detection of the triggering event; and execution () of at least one scan, according to the result of the preliminary test.

A system and method for locking a motor vehicle steering column to prevent accidental locking of the steering column is provided. The system electro-mechanically locks the steering column in rotation using a bolt driven by an electronic control circuit that receives commands from an electronic calculator via a multiplexed bus. A blocking device mechanically blocks displacement of the bolt.

A security arrangement for motor vehicle equipped with a programmed monitoring system ( ) and with at least one specific system ( ) to which the monitoring system transmits commands. The arrangement comprises hard-wired logic ( ) mounted between a control facility ( ) and the specific system, as is the monitoring system. This logic makes it possible to block a command (OV) transmitted by the monitoring system to the specific system, when this command corresponds to that which is obtained in respect of an instruction (C) received by the control facility and when such an instruction has not been received from the control facility by the hard-wired logic. The arrangement is intended to be fitted to a vehicle comprising a programmed monitoring system, such as a &ldquo;hands-free&rdquo; monitoring system, and one or more specific systems, for example an electrical anti-theft system or electrical supply monitoring system.

Security arrangement for motor vehicle equipped with a programmed hands-free monitoring system

The disclosure relates to an authentication device for automobile vehicles that controls door locking and/or engine starting and is able to interchange data over a certain distance with an identifier, intended to be carried by a user, when said identifier lies within the emission/reception coverage zone of said authentication device, to enable &ldquo;hands-free&rdquo; vehicle access and/or engine starting when said identifier has been authenticated by said authentication device, wherein said authentication device is connected to a single antenna inside the vehicle passenger compartment and is able to emit via said antenna at least two distinct emission powers, a first emission power enabling said antenna to cover a first zone including at least part of said passenger compartment, and a second emission power greater than said first emission power enabling said antenna to cover a second zone including at least the whole of said passenger compartment and possibly a coverage zone outside said vehicle.
