The invention relates to a method for detecting a physiological state of a patient deviating from a reference physiological state, in which, after having determined, in each of Q frequency bands, R reference matrices PRwith qe[1 . . . Q] and r&#x3f5;[1 . . . R] which correspond to the reference physiological state, the following steps are repeated in a loop: carrying out measurements, in M time segments, of an electroencephalographic signal; filtering and centering the measurements in Q frequency bands to obtain and determine M&#xd7;Q scaled matrices of spatial covariance; for each time segment m, calculating a deviation from the reference physiological state, and comparing each of the deviations from the reference physiological state to a predefined threshold. The invention also relates to a monitoring device applying said method.

A method for analyzing synchronizations of the electroencephalography of an individual using a set of sensors starting from cerebral electromagnetic analysis of the individual. The method creates a database by acquisition and digitization of electrophysiological signals output from the sensors, and calculates the degree of synchronization existing between all pairs of sensors recorded in an assembly protocol, in frequency bands between 0 and 2000 Hz, to build up the database of classes each characterizing a reference state. The method further performs statistical validation of a period analyzed in real time, which assigns this period to a class in the database, and detects a specific period with a determined degree of synchronization. A device implements this method.

The detection of changes in dynamic properties of brain electrical activity is accomplished by constructing reference dynamics (S ) of a normal state from an EEG, comparing the reference dynamics (S ) with dynamics of a test segment (S ), and computing the similarities over the entire EEG recordings by sliding the test segment (S ) periodically.
