The invention is a method for modeling the effects of interactions between wells on the watercuts in effluents produced by one or more wells through a zone of an underground hydrocarbon reservoir under development, swept by a fluid under pressure injected through one or more injection wells or swept by water from an aquiferous zone, in order to optimize the reservoir production. The method includes selecting a set of significant data from measurements taken from sweep fluid injection records and from records relative to the effluents produced by a series of wells of the zone, and setting up, by means of iterations, an optimized linear model connecting the variations with time of these watercuts with the variations with time of the significant data. The invention is useful to optimize the petroleum production of a reservoir.

A deflected drain (2) drilled in a producing zone (1) is equipped for the production of effluents and fitted with a perforated casing (3) and with a tubing (4). A depression is applied in different locations by selectively changing the position of the application points in relation to these locations. The position of the suction ports and/or the area thereof is varied through the selective opening of valves (8) or by displacing the inlet of the tubing (4). A tubing and/or a casing with perforations such that a determined distribution of the depression is obtained can be used. The depression can be produced by a pumping assembly (5) intercalated on the production tubing (4).

Method for favoring the production of effluents of a producing zone

The method relates to the application to a deflected well (1) of a well-known consolidation process through the polymerization in situ of a liquid substance (L) injected within a zone (2) to be consolidated through an injection pipe (5), by interaction with a reacting gas G injected thereafter. In order to limit the zone of intervention and to properly distribute the substance and the gas all over this zone, a combination of a pipe whose wall is fitted with openings (11) all over the end part thereof (5a), a confining packer (8) and a solid separation element (10) displaced in the pipe after the liquid substance by the reacting gas, which prevents any interaction of the reacting gas before it reaches the zone to be consolidated, is used. Injecting the liquid mixture comprises successive stages of circulation between the inside of pipe (5) and the annulus between the pipe and the well (1) and of forcing to have it make through the formation properly. It is generally preceded by a stage of injection of solvent products.

In a drain (2) fitted with a perforated casing (3), a fluid under pressure is injected in various locations by selectively changing the position of the injection points in relation to these locations by means of a pipe (4). The position of the injection ports and/or the area thereof is varied through the selective opening of valves or by displacing an injection pipe (4). The density of the perforations of the casing (3) and/or of the injection pipe (4) can also be varied. A sweeping of the reservoir crossed by the drain is achieved by injecting for example a hot gaseous fluid such as steam under pressure and the density of the perforations (11) of a pipe (4) is for example selected in such a way that the amount of heat transferred to the formation is substantially constant along the drain.

Method for favoring the injection of fluids in producing zone

The method involves introducing a pumping and measuring set into a production well fitted with a pipe or liner perforated in a part extending through a producing zone. This set is fastened to the end of a flow string and comprises an activation pump and at least one set for measuring the produced effluents. The improvement essentially consists in using secondary pumping means such as a positive-displacement type pump, for example, in order to suppress the pressure drop undergone by the effluents during passage through the measuring zone, which distorts the measured values and causes parasitic flows by bypassing between the liner and the wall of well. The extent of these leak rates can be measured through a variation of the flow rate of the positive-displacement pump.

Advanced method and device for improving the production logs of an

A device comprising a flow string of two parts separated by an assembly for pumping effluents and a side-entry sub lowered into an equipped well provided with a pipe perforated in the part thereof going through a producing zone. At least one assembly of measuring instruments and possibly a device for homogenizing effluents before their treatment are arranged at a bottom end of the lower part of the string. The measuring assembly is connected with the surface installation by a multiconductor cable passing from an inside of the string to the outside at the level of the side-entry sub. The pumping assembly is positioned in a well zone accessible to the produced effluents but far enough from the most deflected and/or the narrowest well portions, in order to facilitate the setting of the pumping assembly and to avoid any risk of jamming or crushing of the cable connected with the assembly of the measuring instruments.

Device for activating and measuring nonflowing producing wells

A subterranean zone and a neighbouring zone are, respectively, for example, a petroliferous deposit and an underlying aquiferous nappe at a fluid pressure higher than that prevailing in the subterranean zone. A method of stimulating production of effluent from the subterranean zone involves drilling at least one deflected drain (preferably nearly or totally horizontal) through the petroliferous zone, the neighbouring zone and an intermediate layer which separates the petroliferous zone from the aquiferous nappe. The intermediate layer is, for example, slightly permeable because of the presence of heavy and viscous hydrocarbon products. The drain is equipped with a pipe fitted with openings at the subterranean zone and at the neighbouring zone and with packer devices selectively positioned in the pipe. A controlled opening of one packer device during production allows injection of water under pressure into the subterranean zone in order to promote production of effluent therefrom.

A subterranean zone and a neighboring zone are, respectively, a petroliferous deposit and an underlying aquiferous nappe at a pressure higher than that prevailing in the subterranean zone, the two zones being separated by an intermediate substantially impervious or slightly permeable layer. A method of stimulating production of effluent from the subterranean zone includes drilling at least one deflected well, preferably nearly or totally horizontal in the intermediate layer and in connecting the two zones together through fractures of the intermediate layer made from the drain. The drain can be equipped with a pipe fitted with openings on a part of its length, with packers or like devices for effecting total or partial confining of the drain and with a fluid pressure source for causing fractures in the intermediate layer at the level of the confined portion. Through the fractures made during the production, water under pressure from the neighboring zone can be injected into the petroliferous zone which stimulates drainage of the deposit.

A method of determining parameters of a geological environment having a known electrical resistivity R.sub.h, with a heterogeneity in the environment having an electrical resistivity R.sub.e, and with a borehole extending into either the environment or the heterogeneity at an unknown distance p from the interface between the environment and the heterogeneity. A measuring assembly is extended into the borehole, including an electrical emitter and two or more electrical detectors. Electrical energy is applied to the emitter and detected by one of the detectors at a distance d from the emitter, and the borehole resistivity R.sub.a at the distance d is determined. This is repeated for others of the detectors at other distances d. A curve is plotted of the resistivity ratio R.sub.a /R.sub.h as a function of the distance d. The plotted curve is compared with previously obtained curves of the resistivity ratio R.sub.a /R.sub.h as a function of d for various combinations of the values of the resistivity ratio R.sub.h /R.sub.e and the borehole-interface distance p, and a resistivity ratio R.sub.h /R.sub.e and a borehole-interface distance p are determined for the plotted curve. The resistivity R.sub.e of the heterogeneity is then calculated. The location of the heterogeneity can be determined from the distance p, and the nature of the heterogeneity is indicated by its resistivity R.sub.e.
