A new and distinct cultivar of Chrysanthemum plant named Champion is provided. The new cultivar was the result of a controlled breeding program. The new cultivar forms attractive flat bi-toned pink anemone flowers with a more intense coloration at the cushion. The plant exhibits a reduced susceptibility to leafminers, and the flowers exhibit a good vase life. The response period of the flowers is approximately seven to eight weeks. The new cultivar is particularly suited for use in the production throughout the year of a cut anemone spray or a pot mum under greenhouse conditions. An excellent tolerance to high temperature is exhibited.

Chrysanthemum plant named `Champion`

A new and distinct cultivar of Chrysanthemum plant named Red Champion is provided. The new cultivar is a spontaneous mutation of the Champion cultivar (U.S. Ser. No. 08/202,201, filed concurrently herewith). The new cultivar forms attractive flat bi-toned reddish anemone flowers with a more intense coloration at the cushion. The plant exhibits a reduced susceptibility to leafminers, and the flowers exhibit a good vase life. The response period of the flowers is approximately seven to eight weeks. The new cultivar is particularly suited for use in the production throughout the year of a cut anemone spray or a pot mum under greenhouse conditions. An excellent tolerance to high temperatures is exhibited.

Chrysanthemum plant named `Red Champion`

A new and distinct cultivar of Chrysanthemum plant named Glasnost is provided. The new cultivar was the result of a controlled breeding program. The new cultivar forms attractive single purple anemone flowers with a more intense red-purple cushion. The plant exhibits substantial resistance to leafminers, and the flowers exhibit a good vase life. The response period of the flowers is approximately eight weeks. The new cultivar is particularly suited for use in the production throughout the year of a cut anemone spray under greenhouse conditions.

Chrysanthemum plant--Glasnost cultivar

A new and distinct cultivar of Chrysanthemum plant named Whisper is provided. The new cultivar was the result of a controlled breeding program wherein an unnamed plant designated 84.824 was pollinated by an unnamed plant designated 84.762. More specifically, the new cultivar forms attractive relatively small bicolored flowers wherein the petals are pink and the disc florets a yellow changing to white with full maturity. The inflorescence tends to be flat in configuration when mature. The plant is vigorous and forms attractive dark green foliage. The response period of the flowers in approximately eight and one-half weeks. Resistance to white rust is exhibited. The new cultivar is particularly suited for use in the production of a cut anemone spray under greenhouse conditions.

Chrysanthemum plant--Whisper cultivar

A new and distinct cultivar of Chrysanthemum plant named Snow Bijoux is provided. The new culivar is a spontaneous mutation of the Bijoux cultivar (U.S. Plant Pat. No. 6,241). More specifically, the new cultivar forms attractive white flowers of the spider anemone type having a yellow center. The white tubular ray florets of the Snow Bijoux cultivar (as illustrated) can be readily distinguished from those of the Bijoux cultivar which are soft pink in coloration. The inflorescence tends to be relatively flat in configuration when mature. The response period of the flowers is approximately nine weeks. The new cultivar is particularly suited for use in the production of a cut spider anemone spray under greenhouse conditions.

Chrysanthemum plant -- Snow Bijoux cultivar

A new and distinct cultivar of Chrysanthemum plant named Buttercup is provided. The new cultivar was the result of a controlled breeding program wherein the Cassa cultivar (U.S. Plant Pat. No. 6,103) was pollinated by the Ahrensia cultivar (non-patented in the United States). More specifically, the new cultivar forms attractive relatively small single intense yellow flowers having a yellow-green disc florets which change to yellow when mature (as illustrated). The inflorescence is pyramidal in configuration and tends to flatten upon maturity. The response period of the flowers is approximately seven and one-half weeks. The plant is both low temperature and high temperature tolerant. The new cultivar is particularly suited for use in the production of a cut single spray under greenhouse conditions.

Chrysanthemum plant -- Buttercup cultivar

A new and distinct cultivar of Chrysanthemum plant named Lierway is provided. The new cultivar is a spontaneous mutation of the Broadway cultivar (U.S. Plant Pat. No. 6,737) and exhibits distinctively colored blossoms of the generally flat capitulum form and the single capitulum type. More specifically, the new cultivar forms attractive yellow flowers having an anthocyanin dot at the flower center which can be readily distinguished from the soft pink flowers of the Broadway parent which include a similar dark dot at the flower center. The new cultivar is particularly suited for use in the production of a cut daisy spray under greenhouse conditions.

Chrysanthemum plant -- Lierway cultivar

A new and distinct cultivar of Chrysanthemum plant named Tigris is provided. The new cultivar was the result of a controlled breeding program wherein the Klondike cultivar (U.S. Plant Pat. No. 4,978) was pollinated by an unnamed plant designated 84.815. More specifically, the new cultivar forms attractive orange flowers having a yellow-green center when immature. The inflorescence tends to be pyramidal in configuration. The response period of the flowers is approximately nine weeks. Resistance to white rust is exhibited as well as a reduction in leafminer susceptibility (i.e., partial resistance) The new cultivar is particularly suited for use in the production of a cut single spray under greenhouse conditions.

Chrysanthemum plant -- Tigris cultivar

A new and distinct cultivar of Chrysanthemum plant named Myway is provided. The new cultivar was the result of a mutation induced by controlled irradiation with x-rays and can be readily distinguished from the parent Broadway cultivar (U.S. Plant Pat. No. 6,737). More specifically, the new cultivar forms attractive yellow single flowers wherein the disc comprises a large dark brown central spot surrounded by a green border. The response period of the flowers is approximately nine weeks. The new cultivar is particularly suited for use in the production of a cut single spray under greenhouse conditions.

A new and distinct cultivar of Chrysanthemum plant named Puma is provided. The new cultivar was the result of a controlled breeding program wherein an unnamed plant designated 86.2378 was pollinated by the Whisper cultivar (non-patented in the United States). More specifically, the new cultivar forms attractive relatively small white anemone-centered flowers having white ray florets and a green center when immature. The inflorescence tends to be pyramidal in configuration. The response period of the flowers is approximately eight weeks. The new cultivar is particularly suited for use in the production of a cut anemone spray under greenhouse conditions.

Chrysanthemum plant--Puma cultivar

A new and distinct cultivar of Chrysanthemum plant name Cocarde is provided. The new cultivar was the result of a controlled breeding program wherein the Harlekijn cultivar (U.S. Plant Pat. No. 6,291) was pollinated by an unnamed plant designated 83.611. More specifically, the new cultivar forms attractive bicolored flowers wherein the ray florets are orange-red at the proximal end and yellow at the distal end and the disc florets exhibit a yellow-green appearance when mature. The inflorescence tends to be pyramidal in configuration. The response period of the flowers is approximately nine weeks. The new cultivar is particularly suited for use in the production of a cut single spray under greenhouse conditions.

The new cultivar was the result of a controlled breeding program wherein an unnamed plant designated 83.660 was pollinated by the Daymark cultivar (U.S. Plant Pat. No. 6,240). More specifically, the new cultivar forms attractive large white anemone-centered flowers having white ray florets and a green center when immature. The inflorescence tends to be pyramidal in configuration. The response period of the flowers is approximately eight weeks. More specifically, the new cultivar forms attractive relatively large light red-purple anemone-centered flowers having a green center when immature. The inflorescence tends to be pyramidal in configuration. The response period of the flowers is approximately eight weeks. The new cultivar is particularly suited for use in the production of a cut anemone spray under greenhouse conditions.
