An optical code reading device, including a unit having, for each of the tracks of the coded element, a pair of photodiodes, a differential amplifier receiving the outputs of the photodiodes and the trigger connected to the output of the amplifier, a shift register receiving the outputs from the unit, a control unit, a clock and apparatus for feeding to said unit signals adapted for simulating at will, for each channel, the bit level '0' or the bit level '1'.

Optical code reading device

An analog position indicating optical encoder is provided including: an element (1) with a band (2) having a transparency which substantially is complete with respect to two wavelengths (1.sub.1 and 1.sub.2) but varies as a function of the angular or linear distance for a third wavelength (1.sub.3) at wavelength which is between the above-said two wavelengths (1.sub.1 and 1.sub.2); light emitting means (3.sub.1,3.sub.2,3.sub.3) emitting three light beams (7.sub.1,7.sub.2,7.sub.3) at the above said wavelengths (1.sub.1,1.sub.2,1.sub.3); a first optical coupler (5,6) mixing the beams (7.sub.1,7.sub.2,7.sub.3); optical bidirectional transmission means of the optical fiber type (B); a second optical coupler (18,19) dividing into three beams (20.sub.1,20.sub.2,20'.sub.3) the light leaving the means (B) after being reflected by the optical element (13) and after passing through the band (2); three readers (23.sub.1,23.sub.2,23.sub.3) responsive to the wavelength (1.sub.1,1.sub.2, and 1.sub.3); and an electronic unit (25) connected to the optical readers (23.sub.1,23.sub.2), and determining the ratio between the mean readers reading the wavelengths 1.sub.1 and 1.sub.2 corresponding to the wavelength 1.sub.3 the responses of 23.sub.1 and 23.sub.2 and the response of 23.sub.3.

Analog position-indicating optical encoder

An incremental optical code reader of the wholly integrated type including a reading assembly, a pair of photodiodes, a differential amplifier receiving the outputs of the photodiodes and a trigger connected to the output of the amplifier. An electronic assembly with 'exclusive OR' logic gates, AND logic gates and OR logic gates, receiving the outputs of the triggers for the channels and feeding into the outputs.

Incremental optical code reader, particularly of the wholly integrated

A position locating optical coder is provided formed by a sensor which includes a reader, for reading a code carrying element a pivoting micromirror actuated under the control of the output of the reader and a self contained power supply source. A module is provided which comprises two light emitters, a second reader, a unit for processing the signals from the second reader, and a power supply source. In addition a bidirectional coupler and optical fiber transmitting devices serve to transfer the code pulses between the sensor and the module.

Position locating optical coder utilizing optical fiber

An optical position locating apparatus is provided which includes a first light reader with several photodetectors for reading the tracks of a disk, a first light emitter excited by the first light reader and a self contained power supply source. A module is provided which comprises a second light emitter, a second light reader and a processor for processing electric signals from the first light reader. An optical fiber system is provided for transmitting the electric signals to the second light reader. Optical systems are advantageously provided.

Optical position locating apparatus with bidirectional light transmission

An optical position locating device is provided comprising a light emitter, a bidirectional optical coupler, an optical fiber, a series of micromirrors disposed between a fiber and disk carrying the coded tracks (one mirror opposite each track). A control unit successively brings one and only one mirror into an active position, the others remain in a rest position. An optoelectronic reader emitting a light pulse in response to the light reflected by one of the mirrors in the active position through the optical fiber and and a processing unit processes these signals.

The device comprises a metal chassis (2a) bent into a U shape and cut out with a light support (17), a support for a fluid tight box, including within the box an integrated circuit chip (27), and an indented lateral flange (22, 23, 24); the light source is shown at (34). The apparatus includes the numerical deviation is checked between the two words supplied by detector correspondingly to the geometric shift provided by means of conversion levels in natural binary code complementation code as well as an adder and a coincidence gate supplying a validation signal.
