A granulated foam control composition comprises a foam control agent based on a polydiorganosiloxane fluid, an organic additive of melting point 45&#x2033;17C to 100&#xb0; C. comprising a polyol ester, a water-soluble particulate inorganic carrier and a polymer having a net cationic charge. The mean number of carbon atoms in the organo groups of the polydiorganosiloxane fluid is at least 1.3. The foam control agent includes a hydrophobic filler dispersed in the polydiorganosiloxane fluid, and optionally an organosilicone resin. The polyol ester is miscible with the polydiorganosiloxane fluid.

Granulated foam control composition comprising a polyol ester and cationic polymer

A granular material for use in the treating of textile materials, comprising (i) a silicone material having at least one nitrogen containing substituent, (ii) an aluminosilicate carrier and (iii) a binder, preferably in conjunction with a surface active material. Also described is a process for preparing such granular materials, which comprises forming a water-in-oil emulsion of component (i) in conjunction with component (iii) by dispersing and agitating said components in water, followed by depositing said emulsion onto a free flowing powder form of component (ii), for example by spraying, and removing sufficient water from the product to obtain a free flowing granular material. The granules are useful in a process of treating textile materials in an aqueous medium, particularly where the textile material is denim. Preferably the granular material is added into the finishing steps of denim such as the desizing, the fading or the softening steps and helps with avoiding backstaining.

This invention relates to a foam control composition comprising: (A) a silicone antifoam comprising (i) an organopolysiloxane having at least one silicon-bonded substituent of the formula X&#x2014;Ar, wherein X represents a divalent aliphatic group bonded to silicon through a carbon atom and Ar represents an aromatic group, (ii) an organosilicon resin having the formula RSiOwhere Rrepresents a hydrocarbon, a hydrocarbonoxy or a hydroxyl group and a has an average value of 0.5 to 2.4, and (iii) a hydrophobic filler; and (B) an organopolysiloxane resin having at least one polyoxyalkylene group in which the organopolysiloxane resin comprises tetrafunctional siloxane units having the formula SiOand monofunctional siloxane units having the formula RSiO, wherein the total number of tetrafunctional siloxane units in the resin is at least 50% based on the total number of siloxane units, and Rrepresents a hydrocarbon group. The foam control composition may be added to a potentially foaming liquid, particularly a detergent, such as an HDL detergent.

Foam control composition

A foam control agent comprises (A) an organopolysiloxane material having at least one silicon-bonded substituent of the formula X&mdash;Ph, wherein X denotes a divalent aliphatic hydrocarbon group and Ph denotes an optionally substituted aromatic group, (B) an organosilicon resin and (C) a hydrophobic filler. The organosilicon resin (B) preferably consists of siloxane units of the formula R&prime; SiO wherein R&prime; denotes a hydroxyl, hydrocarbon or hydrocarbonoxy group, particularly trialkylsiloxy units and SiO4/2 units, wherein a has a value of from 0.5 to 2.4. The foam control agent may be provided as an emulsion or as a particulate material. It is especially useful as a detergent foam control agent.

Silicone foam control agent

A foam control agent, comprising (A) an organopolysiloxane material having at least one silicon-bonded substituent of the formula X-Ph, wherein X denotes a divalent aliphatic organic group bonded to silicon through a carbon atom and Ph denotes an optionally substituted aromatic group, (B) a water-insoluble organic fluid, (C) an organosilicon resin and (D) a hydrophobic filler. The foam control agent may be provided as an emulsion or as a particulate material. It is especially useful as a detergent foam control agent.

The present invention relates to a silicone composition prepared by reacting a mixture comprising (i) mineral oil, (ii) a polyorganosiloxane, (iii) a silicon compound, and (iv) a catalytic amount of a catalyst. The compositions of this invention are resistant to phase separation and are useful as foam control compositions in foam producing systems.

Silicone compositions and uses thereof

A foam control agent comprising 100 parts by weight of a water-insoluble organic liquid, from 0.1 to 20 parts by weight of a first hydrophobic filler with a size of no more than 20 .mu.m, preferably silica, and from 0.1 to 20 parts by weight of a second hydrophobic filler having a size of at least 30 .mu.m, preferably an organopolysiloxane resin, said fillers being insoluble in the organic liquid. The foam control agent is particularly useful as an antifoam in detergent compositions, paper pulp manufacture, textile dyeing or cutting oils.

A foam control agent which is free from hydrocarbon oils and comprises (A) an organopolysiloxane with 0 to 60% of units (i) ##EQU1## wherein R denotes a C.sub.8 hydrocarbon group and a is 0-3, and 40 to 100% of units (ii) ##EQU2## wherein R' is --Z.sub.z --R' with R' being an C.sub.9-35 alkyl, Z is a linking group and z is 0 or 1, b 0, 1 or 2, c 1 or 2 and b+c 1, 2 or 3, provided more than 70% by weight of the carbon content of (A) is due to R', (B) a finely divided hydrophobic particulate material and (C) optionally a MQ organosilicon resin. The agents give improved performance and stability e.g. in detergent powders.

Foam control agents

A suds-controlling composition of improved stability in aqueous surfactants, such as detergents, is disclosed comprising a silicon antifoam consisting essentially of a liquid branched polyorganosiloxane and a finely divided filler having a hydrophobic surface; a polyorganosiloxane polyoxyalkylene copolymer; and a cyclic organopolysiloxane. The silicone antifoam and polyorganosiloxane polyoxyalkylene copolymer are combined in a ratio of 1/3 to 3/1.

Suds-controlling composition for aqueous compositions

A suds-controlling composition which comprises 100 parts by weight of a silicone antifoam which has a liquid branched polyhydrocarbyl siloxane material having at most 2 mole % branching and at least 2 trifunctional or tetrafunctional siloxane units, a finely divided hydrophobic filler, and from 75 to 900 parts by weight of a polyorganosiloxane polyoxyalkylene copolymer can be used as a stable suds-controlling composition for aqueous surfactant compositions, especially liquid detergents.
