A deployment system is configured to deploy a prosthesis into an internal lumen of a patient. The system can include an introducer with the loaded prosthesis. A spacing mechanism can be disposed axially along the introducer. When the prosthesis is mounted onto the introducer in a radially compressed configuration, an end of a first stent and a second stent can engage a contact point of the spacing mechanism to maintain the axial distance between the first and second stents and prevent axial compression of the prosthesis during loading and deployment. The spacing mechanism can reside within the prosthesis and be disposed outwardly away from the introducer to contact the interior surface of the prosthesis. The spacing mechanism can include a flexible longitudinal member, such as a wire or strip, or a tubular body.

Prosthesis delivery system

A modular stent graft system and methods of assembly are disclosed. The stent graft assembly comprises a first stent graft having an interface region at its distal end and a first locking stent secured to an internal surface of the interface region. A second stent graft having an interface region at its proximal end is configured to at least partially overlap with the interface region at the distal end of the first stent graft. The second stent graft comprises a second locking stent secured to an external surface of the interface region. The first and second locking stents are configured to be engaged such that the second locking stent is nested between the first locking stent and an internal surface of the interface region of the first stent graft thereby interlocking the first and second stent grafts to each other.

Locking mechanism for securing the interface between stent grafts

A low profile stepped delivery system for retracting trigger wires from a prosthesis to release the prosthesis from a delivery device. A rod is disposed within an axial bore of a handle. The rod has a first longitudinal surface and a second longitudinal surface. A first engagement mechanism is disposed on the first longitudinal surface and a second engagement mechanism disposed on the second longitudinal surface. A wire coiling assembly is disposed at an end of the of the handle and comprises a first rotary gear that is adapted to be rotated by the first engagement mechanism, a second rotary gear that is adapted to be rotated by the second engagement mechanism, a first wire spool that is coupled to a rotation of the first rotary gear, and a second wire spool that is coupled to the rotation of second rotary gear. The first wire spool is configured to secure a first trigger wire and the second wire spool is configured to secure a second trigger wire.

Low profile stepped delivery system

An introducer sheath has a tubular structure that is expandable and contractible to a desired diameter. In a first configuration, the tubular structure has a first diameter and a first axial length. In a second configuration, the tubular structure has a larger second diameter and a shorter second axial length. An actuator includes an inner member and an outer member. In response to relative movement between the members and the tubular structure in a first or second direction, the actuator allows the tubular structure to move to the respective between the first or second configurations. The tubular structure can be a braided structure. The members can form an everted tubular sleeve. A proximal end of the outer sleeve is movable relative a proximal end of the inner sleeve. A locking system can fix the introducer sheath at a desired diameter.

Delivery device having a variable diameter introducer sheath

A releasable top cap system for a delivery device having an emergency release includes a top cap having a top portion and a bottom portion releasably attached to the top portion, the bottom portion having two adjacent side portions. A cannula is positioned distal to the top cap having a proximal end and a distal end. A connector is attached to the proximal end of the cannula. A pair of wire components extend throughout the length of the cannula. Each wire component has a distal end and a proximal end. The proximal end of each wire component is attached to the male luer lock component and the distal end of each wire component is attached to the side portions of the top cap assembly.

Releasable top cap assembly

An endoluminal prosthesis may include a tubular graft extending in a longitudinal direction, where the graft has an inner surface forming a lumen extending a length of the graft. An elongate member may be attached to the graft in a circumferentially and longitudinally extending manner such that the elongate member forms a series of longitudinally spaced apart turns, each turn extending substantially around a circumference of the graft. The elongate member may torsion the graft in at least the circumferential direction and cause the graft to form circumferentially and longitudinally extending folds in the portions of the graft disposed between longitudinally adjacent turns of the elongate member.
