A damper includes a pressure tube extending about a longitudinal axis and defining an inner volume. The damper includes a piston attached to a piston rod and slidably disposed within the pressure tube. The piston divides the inner volume of the pressure tube into a first working chamber and a second working chamber. The damper includes a fluid connector having a first wall and a second wall, each elongated along the longitudinal axis and sealed to the pressure tube. The fluid connector has a third wall elongated along the longitudinal axis and extending from the first wall to the second wall. The pressure tube defines an opening at the first working chamber, and the third wall of the fluid connector defines an opening spaced from the opening of the pressure tube. The first wall, the second wall, and the third wall define a passage extending from the opening of the pressure tube to the opening of the third wall.

Damper assembly

The present disclosure relates to an air spring apparatus for use with a cabin of a vehicle. The apparatus has an upper assembly, a lower assembly, a shock absorber, a bladder, a flexible bumper element and a control element. The shock absorber has a piston rod protruding therefrom and extending through the other one of the upper and lower assemblies. The bladder is attached to the upper and lower assemblies. The flexible bumper element is secured to the piston rod adjacent one of the upper and lower assemblies, and secured to the other one of the upper and lower assemblies. The control element is secured to the flexible bumper element at a first end, and to a valve at a second end, and controls operation of the valve. The flexible bumper element can flex in response to torsional or tilting forces experienced by the one of the upper and lower assemblies, to thus help to limit these forces from being imparted to the control element.

A suspension system for a vehicle includes a frequency dependent damper (FDD) or shock absorber defining a first pressurized working chamber and an air spring assembly defining a second pressurized working chamber. A booster enables pressure communication between the first pressurized working chamber and the second pressurized working chamber. The booster includes a resilient member that effects booster performance.

Booster to adapt air spring pressure for FDD shock absorber

A strut includes a shock absorber and an air spring. The air spring is positioned around and concentric with the shock absorber. A sealing system is employed which seals the pressurized air chamber of the air spring. The sealing system utilizes an elastomeric seal located between the air spring and the shock absorber. The elastomeric seal can be a rectangular annular seal, an O-ring seal or an elastomeric seal bonded to a metal plate.
