An optical subassembly comprising: (a) an interposer having first and second opposing sides and defining an alignment aperture extending from said first opposing side to said second opposing side, said interposer defining traces having contacts; (b) a fiber having a first optical axis, said fiber being held such that first optical axis is positioned essentially orthogonal to said first and second opposing sides; (c) at least one optical component mounted to said second opposing side and being electrically connected to at least a portion of said contacts, said at least one optical component having a second optical axis coincident with said first optical axis; and (d) a circuit board configured to receive said interposer such that said interposer is essentially orthogonal to said circuit board and said first optical axis is essentially parallel to said circuit board, said circuit board being electrically connected to at least a portion of said contacts.

Interposer

An electrical connector which controls cross talk and signal radiation. The electrical connector includes columns of contacts having signal contacts and ground contacts. Ground shields are positioned between the columns of contacts. The ground shields have planar members with mating ends and mounting ends. The planar members have surfaces which are configured to be electrically coupled to ground members on a mating connector. Voids are provided in the planar members. Mounting members extend from the mounting ends of the planar members. The mounting members are configured to cooperate with the ground contacts provided in the columns of contacts.

An optical subassembly comprising: (a) an interposer having first and second opposing sides and defining at least one alignment aperture extending from said first opposing side to said second opposing side; (b) at least one fiber having a first optical axis disposed in said at least one alignment aperture; (c) at least one optical component mounted to said second opposing side having a second optical axis coincident with said first optical axis and defining an interface between said at least one optical component and said at least one optical component; and (d) a feedback component disposed on interposer within line-of-sight of said interface to receive at least a portion of uncoupled light emitted from said interface.

A transceiver assembly for mounting on a mother board, said transceiver assembly comprising: (a) a frame defining a first plane configured for mounting parallel to said motherboard, said frame defining a plurality of slots perpendicular to said first plane; and (b) one or more opto-electric cards, each of said one or more opto-electric cards disposed in one of said plurality of slots and comprising at least, (i) a substrate having a first edge parallel to said first plane when said opto-electric card is mounted in said slot, (ii) an electrical interface along said first edge, (iii) and an interposer electrically connected to said electrical interface and comprising at least one optical component operatively connected to said electrical interface, and (iv) at least one optical fiber extending freely from said interposer.

High density optical transceiver assembly

An electrical connector includes a contact leadframe of unitary construction including first contacts extending to second contacts via corresponding leads, and an overmolded contact module housing formed over the leadframe, forming a connector module. The connector further includes the housing embedding the leads and surrounding the first contacts, the second contacts extending from the housing. The connector further includes a first surface of the first contacts in contact with the housing, and an opposed second surface of the first contacts being exposed. The connector includes a plurality of connector modules positioned in an aligned arrangement.

An optical assembly having x, y and z axes and comprising: (a) a first substrate having a planar surface, a first wall adjacent and substantially perpendicular to the planar surface, a first register surface adjacent the first wall, at least one foundation to receive an optical element having a first optical axis at least partially along the z axis; (b) an opto-electrical device (OED) having a top surface, an active area on the top surface having a second optical axis normal to the top surface, and a first alignment element defined on the top surface, the OED mounted to the first wall such that the first alignment element contacts the first register surface to position the OED on the first substrate along at least one of the x or y axes with the second optical axis parallel to the planar surface.

Optical assembly with passive alignment

An electrical connector is provided and includes an insulating housing, a contact, and a metal spring. The insulating housing includes a body with a substantially planar lower wall and a receptacle extending through the body. The contact is disposed in the insulating housing and includes an inner portion extending into the receptacle and an outer portion disposed along an outer periphery of the insulating housing. The metal spring is disposed in the receptacle and includes a mid-section extending into and bias towards the receptacle.

An electrical connector has a first row of contact pins. The first row of contact pins comprises a first grounding pin, a second grounding pin and a first signal pin arranged between the first grounding pin and the second grounding pin. The invention relates to a Switch connector for mounting on a printed circuit board, adapted to receive a mating connector in an insertion direction along an insertion axis. The switch connector comprises a shield, a contact element, and a contact spring having at least one fixed leg, at least one elastically deflectable switching leg, and at least one spring bend, the fixed leg and the switching leg extending from the spring bend in a common direction and passing the insertion axis. The switching leg is adapted to be moved by insertion of the mating connector from a rest position, at which the switching leg exerts a spring force onto the contact element, to a switching position, at which the switching leg is spaced apart from the contact element, at least one spring force flux that in the rest position is generated by the switching leg and guided in a closed loop to the fixed leg. To increase the reliability of the switching function, the shield is arranged in the closed loop of the spring force flux.

Miniature switch connector

An electrical connector includes a male electrical connector and a female electrical connector. The male electrical connector includes an electrical connector housing that receives a plurality of contact modules provided with first mating contacts. The female electrical connector includes an electrical connector housing that receives a plurality of contact modules provided with second mating contacts that mate with the first mating contacts. Each of the electrical connector housings has a plurality of electrically insulating plates. The electrically insulating plates extend in a plane substantially perpendicular to a plane of insertion of the contact modules into the electrical connector housings. The electrically insulating plates support at least the first mating contacts.

The invention relates to a coaxial connector () for mounting on a printed circuit board adapted to receive a mating coaxial connector in an insertion direction (I). The coaxial connector comprises a contact spring () having a fixed leg () and an deflectable switching leg (). The switching leg () is moved by insertion of the mating connector from a rest position to a switching position. In rest position said switching leg electrically conductively presses against the switch portion () of the contact element (). The spring force flux (F) is guided via a contact element () in a closed loop back to the contact spring (). In switching position the switching leg () is spaced apart in an switching direction (D) from the switch portion () by the inserted mating connector. To provide smaller dimensions the contact element () is formed as a substantially C-shaped clip forming an opening (O) framed by the support portion () and the switch portion (), the switching leg () of the contact spring () extending into the opening.

Coaxial connector

An electrical connector includes a dielectric housing provided with a plurality of contact modules. Each of the contact modules is provided with a lead frame having mounting contacts electrically connected to mating contacts by signal conductors and ground conductors that extend along a predetermined path within the contact module. The lead frames in adjacent contact modules alternate between a first pattern and a second pattern. The first pattern and the second pattern each have pairs of signal conductors and individual ground conductors arranged in an alternating sequence. Each of the ground conductors has a width transverse to the predetermined path that is substantially equal to a combined width transverse to the predetermined path across the pair of signal conductors in the adjacent contact module such that the ground conductor shields the pair of signal conductors in the adjacent contact module.

A receptacle connector comprises at least one receptacle contact. The receptacle contact includes a contact member and at least one spring member. The contact member is formed for receipt of a plug contact along a mating plane. The contact member is resiliently displaceable in a direction substantial lateral to the mating plane by the spring member.
