Control system for a Continuously Variable Transmission with two pairs of conical sheaves each with an adjustable running radius, the sheave of each pair being coupled to a hydraulic actuator and the inlet port of each actuator being connected with the hydraulic actuator setting means, fed from the outlet port of a hydraulic displacement pump, connected to a supply of hydraulic medium and coupled to an electric motor which is controlled by a controller which controls the speed of the electric motor with a first control signal which is generated as a function of the actual transmission ratio of the transmission on one hand and of the desired speed of change of this transmission ratio on the other hand, all this in such a way that the speed of this first motor increases with an increase of the transmission ratio of the transmission on one hand and an increase of the speed of change of the ratio on the other hand, while the outlet port of the displacement pump is connected to the inlet of an electronically controllable pressure relief valve of which the set point is determined by a second control signal as a function of the set transmission ratio on one hand and the value of the actual torque transmitted through the transmission on the other hand, in such a way that de value of the resulting hydraulic pressure increases as the transmission ratio increases on one hand, and as the torque transmitted through the transmission increases on the other hand.

Control system for a continuously variable transmission

Control system for a continuously variable transmission with a first and a second pair of conical sheaves each with adjustable running radius, in which of each pair at least one sheave () is coupled to a first and a second hydraulic actuator () respectively which sets the axial sheave position in dependence of the amount of hydraulic medium supplied thereto, in which the actuators are connected with means to supply and discharge thereto/therefrom respectively, hydraulic medium, and one actuator is connected to a source of hydraulic pressure medium, and in which furthermore the first and second actuator respectively is connected with a first and second control chamber () respectively, filled with hydraulic medium and having a variable control volume, in such a way that an increase of the first control volume is coupled to a decrease of the second control volume, and vice versa.

The invention provides a serial continuously variable transmission () comprising an input shaft () with a first pulley sheave set () of a first CVT stage and an output shaft () with a fourth pulley sheave set () of a second CVT stage, and a second () and third () pulley sheave set, rotating around a common axis and mutually rotationally secured the respective inner pulley sheave of the second and the third pulley sheave set being interconnected and combined into an assembly which is shiftable along and rotatable therearound the common axis (), while the respective diameters of the pulley sheaves of the second CVT stage are greater than the diameters of the sheaves of the first CVT stage, in such a way that the effective running radius of the driving belt of this second stage will be greater than the effective running radius of the driving belt of the first stage.

Serial continuously variable transmission

Electrically motorised bicycle hub with a stationary wheel shaft which rotatingly supports a hub housing, in which is provided a rotor which can rotate around the wheel shaft and which comprises&#x2014;a first part, parallel to the wheel shaft and carrying a ring of permanent magnets which cooperate with a ring of stator windings, supported by a carrier, and a second part rotatingly supported by the wheel shaft and connected to the first part by means of a transition part, and with furthermore a wheel transmission, driven by this second rotor part and which reduces the rotation speed thereof, the output thereof driving the hub housing, this wheel transmission being accommodated in the space between the stator windings and the wheel shaft. Preferably, the first rotor part is rotatingly supported on one of the hub walls opposite thereto while seals are provided between the cylindrical winding carrier and the parts opposite thereto.

Device for stretching a transmission chain closed in itself and comprising pairs of elongated rocker elements mutually coupled by links, said rocker elements being destined for a torque transferring cooperation with the pulley sheaves of a pulley sheave transmission, and comprising a first and a second supporting surface which support a chain to be treated over an angle of an arc and having an adjustable mutual distance to generate tensile stresses in the chain supported thereby, in which the first supporting surface is freely rotatable accommodated between the first ends of two distant frame parts, the second supporting surface is freely rotatable accommodated on an auxiliary carrier between the two frame parts, said carrier being provided with two opposite stubby shafts, protruding there from and of which the axis lies at a distance from the axis of rotation of the second supporting surface which is rotatably supported by said auxiliary carrier and lies near the second end of the frame parts while of said supporting surfaces at least one can be driven in rotation.

Device for stretching a transmission chain

To obtain a compact structure and to increase at the same time the structural stiffness of an apparatus for plastically deforming and strengthening the links, which are intercoupled by rocker pins, of a complete endless transmission chain, said apparatus comprises a first and a second pair respectively of conical supporting surfaces for the ends which protrude outside said links of the rocker pins of a transmission chain, mounted thereon, said surfaces having a controllable mutual distance, the invention propose to add a third similar pair of supporting surfaces, provided for cooperation with the first and second shaft. This measure also speeds up the treatment of the transmission chain.

Apparatus and method for stretching the links of a transmission chain while surpassing the limit of elasticity thereof

Transmission chain constructed from a number of links intercoupled by pivot assemblies, each comprising a first and a second elongated pin of which at least one cooperates with its ends, while transmitting a force, with a pair of pulley sheaves, while during operation one pin rolls with a curved longitudinal surface over the opposite, essentially flat longitudinal surface of the second pin, both pins having mutually different cross-section configurations and a difference in the configuration of the transition between the rolling surface of the second pin to the upper and lower respectively longitudinal edge thereof and/or a mutual difference in height between the first and the second pin respectively.
