A valve useful in an inflow control device for downhole use in an oil and gas well completion equipment is disclosed. The valve may have a flexible canopy that prevents fluid flow between the base pipe and the formation when flow travels in a first direction and permits fluid flow between the base pipe and the formation when flow travels in a second direction.

Valve apparatus for inflow control devices

A flow control apparatus with a guide housing having one or ports, a breakable bond, and a platform with an upper surface having one or more pistons. The platform and guide housing have a first bonded configuration where the pistons are received in the ports, a breaking configuration, an opening configuration where the platform is movable away from the guide housing, and a misaligned configuration where the platform is displaced with respect to the guide housing. The guide housing has a guide bore and the platform has a guide projection extending into the guide bore. The guide bore has a groove and the guide projection has an extension extending in the groove for transitioning between configurations.

Multiple port opening method with single pressure activation

A lower completion assembly includes a tubular comprising an interior passageway defined by an internal surface of the pipe and a port extending between external and internal surfaces of the tubular. The port is defined by a first surface that extends between the internal and external surfaces. The assembly also includes an inflow control device that is coupled to the external surface of the pipe and that comprises a fluid exit that is adjacent the port. The assembly has a first configuration and a second configuration. When in the first configuration a dissolvable plug extends across the fluid exit to fluidically isolate the fluid exit from the interior passageway and a gap is defined adjacent the first surface. When in the second configuration, the dissolvable plug does not extend across the fluid exit and the fluid exit is in fluid communication with the interior passageway.

Provided are systems and methods for controlling the fluid flow to and from the flow ports of an autonomous inflow control device (AICD). Features may include the addition of a ball check valve to the AICD. A well system may comprise: a production tubing; a flow control device, wherein the flow control device is disposed onto the production tubing; and a ball check valve disposed between the flow control device and the production tubing to restrict flow into the production tubing through a port in the flow control device, wherein the ball check valve comprises a housing and a ball.
