A method for hybrid noise suppression includes receiving a processed audio signal from an audio device. The processed audio signal results from a partial audio processing performed on a noisy audio input signal. The method further includes predicting a noise suppression parameter using a neural network model operating on the processed audio signal and generating a noise-suppressed audio signal from the processed audio signal, using the noise suppression parameter. The method further includes generating a noise-suppressed audio output signal from the noise-suppressed audio signal using an additional audio processing and outputting the noise-suppressed audio output signal.

A headset implements an earloop microphone and includes a housing. An earloop of the headset secures the headset to an ear of a user. A first microphone is acoustically coupled to a first opening in the housing. A second microphone is acoustically coupled to a second opening in the housing. A third microphone is acoustically coupled to a third opening in the earloop.

Improved monaural headsets are provided. In some embodiments, a monaural headset includes: a first earphone with a speaker to provide output audio to a user; a second earphone without a speaker to provide output audio to the user; and a headband, connected to the first earphone and the second earphone; wherein the second earphone includes at least one vent opening, which vent opening during use provides an acoustic path between an environment of the user, wearing the headset, and the user's ear.

A headset case includes a base providing a cavity for stowing a headset, the base including a bottom region configured to rest on a surface; a lid; and a hinge pivotably connecting the lid to the base. When the headset case is in a closed configuration, the lid covers the cavity. When the headset case is in an open configuration, a first section of the lid at least partially rests on the surface, and a second section of the lid, extending from the first section of the lid, is configured to prop up a smartphone by mechanically supporting the smartphone leaning against the second section of the lid while resting on the base.

A method for hybrid noise suppression involves receiving a first processed audio signal and a second processed audio signal from an audio device. The first processed audio signal results from a comprehensive audio processing including a noise spectrum estimate-based noise suppression performed on a noisy audio input signal obtained by the audio device. The second processed signal results from a partial audio processing excluding the noise spectrum estimate-based noise suppression performed on the noisy audio input signal. The method further involves temporally aligning the second processed audio signal with the first processed audio signal, predicting a noise suppression parameter using a neural network model operating on the second processed audio signal after the temporal alignment, generating a noise-suppressed audio output signal from the first processed audio signal after the temporal alignment using the noise suppression parameter, and outputting the noise-suppressed audio output signal.

A headset is described that utilizes magnetic frictional couplers. A coupler includes a first member having a first engagement surface and a second member having a second engagement surface disposed for relative positioning of the first and second members along a line of adjustment. One or more magnetic elements are arranged on the first and second members to establish a magnetic flux between the first engagement surface and the second engagement surface, and thereby establishing a frictional force tending to hold the relative positions of the first and second members. The magnetic flux varies as a function of relative position of the first and second members along the line of adjustment, and has peaks at a plurality of detent positions along the line of adjustment.

A mobile phone stations is disclosed. In general, in one aspect, the mobile phone station connects to a smartphone for sending and receiving data therebetween. Further, the mobile phone station includes a dial pad for placing outgoing calls via the smartphone and answering incoming calls received at the smartphone. Also, the mobile phone station includes a charging mechanism for charging the smartphone. In use during an active call at the smartphone, the mobile phone station allows a user to seamlessly switch between two or more of a handset, a speakerphone, and a headset without requiring any user interaction with the smartphone.

A desktop device comprises a housing having a bottom side configured to face a surface on which the device is to be placed, such as a desktop, and a front side configured to face a user of the device. A down-firing speaker is placed inside the housing. A speaker port is disposed on the bottom side of the housing. A horn assembly on the housing is arranged to define a speaker horn in combination with the surface on which the device is placed.

A holder for a mobile computing device is provided, which comprises a base member with a plurality of spaced angular adjustment recesses; a device platform, the device platform being pivotably connected to the base member and being configured for receiving a mobile computing device; and a support member, pivotably connected with the device platform and configured for engagement with one of the angular adjustment recesses to allow a plurality of different angular positions of the device platform with respect to the base member. Herein, the support member is spring-loaded to, upon movement of the device platform by a user, move from a first of the adjustment recesses to an adjacent adjustment recess.
