A concrete floor has a pipe passing through a hole in the floor. A drop-in fire stop assembly has a clam-shell configuration having first and second portions of a fire ring, split cage, split retainer ring, split intumescent ring, split inner smoke ring and split outer smoke ring each fastened together to rotate about a hinge on the split cage to open and close. The first and second portions have free ends that spread apart to fit around the tube in an open position, and close around the tube in a closed position. A latch on the free ends of the cage hold the two portions together in the closed position.

Drop in fire stop assembly

A concrete structure with a corrugated bottom surface has a pipe passing through a passage in the structure. A fire stop assembly has a first portion with a split plate, split cage, split intumescent ring, split inner smoke ring and split outer smoke ring each fastened together to rotate together about a hinge on the split cage. The fire stop assembly has a second portion of the split plate, split cage, split intumescent ring, split inner smoke ring and split outer smoke ring fastened together to rotate together about a hinge. The first and second portions have free ends that spread apart to fit around the tube in an open position, and close around the tube in a closed position.

Fire stop assembly for concrete structures

A pipeline has a fitting with a wedge-shaped plug pressed into a wedge-shaped fitting recess by a retaining ring to block flow through the fitting for pressure testing. The plug has an extractor plate fastened to the plug through a center of the retaining ring so the retaining ring can rotate relative to the plug and extractor plate. But the extractor plate is a predetermined maximum distance from the plug and is larger than the center opening of the retaining ring to captivate the retaining ring between the plug and extractor plate. That limits the retaining ring motion along the port's axis. Threading engagement between the retaining ring and port allow the retaining ring to push the plug into the fitting in a first rotation direction while rotation in the opposite direction allows the retaining ring to push the extractor plate and the connected plug out of the fitting.
