A method is provided for determining a power production capacity of at least one wind turbine connected to a power grid. The method includes receiving, e.g. from a power grid control center, a power production forecast for the at least one wind turbine, and then monitoring an actual grid frequency of the power grid. Based on the actual grid frequency and a nominal grid frequency, a frequency support power reserve is determined. The power production capacity is then determined in dependence of the determined frequency support power reserve and the power production forecast.

Power production forecast based wind turbine control

A method for controlling a power output of a power generating unit is disclosed. An accumulated power output of the power generating unit during a predefined time interval is forecasted. An actual power output of the power generating unit is measured during the predefined time interval, and an actual accumulated power output is estimated for the predefined time interval on the basis of the measured actual power output of the power generating unit. A difference between the forecasted accumulated power output and the estimated actual accumulated power output is derived. The power output of the power generating unit is boosted, in the case that the estimated actual accumulated power output is below the forecasted accumulated power output, and the difference between the forecasted accumulated power output and the estimated actual accumulated power output is larger than a predefined threshold value.

Method for controlling boosted power output of a power generating unit

Aspects of the present invention relate to a method for controlling one or more wind turbine generators. The method comprises: receiving a trigger signal, and implementing an active power boost mode during a predetermined time period in response to receiving the trigger signal. The active power boost mode comprises: disregarding further trigger signals; and generating one or more upper active power limits for each of the one or more wind turbine generators, wherein, during at least a first portion of the predetermined time period, the one or more upper active power limits are fixed at an active power boost level that is greater than a nominal active power level of the one or more wind turbine generators.

Aspects of the present invention relate to a method for controlling a renewable power plant connected to a power network to reduce deviation of a measured frequency of the power network from a target frequency. The method comprises determining a forecasted power gradient over a forecast interval defined between a first time point and a second time point, and, at a third time point during the forecast interval, controlling the power plant to output active power according to a minimum active power level if the measured frequency at the third time point is below the target frequency, controlling the power plant to output active power according to a maximum active power level if the measured frequency at the third time point is above the target frequency. The maximum and minimum active power levels are based on the forecasted power gradient.

Active power control in renewable power plants for grid stabilisation

The invention relates to a method for determining power set points of a power plant comprising a plurality of power generating units with at least one wind turbine generator. The determination of the power set points are based on a prioritization of the power generating units, where the power generating units are prioritized with respect to individual power levels or fatigue levels obtained for the power generating units. The prioritization is adjusted so that the adjusted prioritization depends both on the power and fatigue levels.
