An isolation barrier for reducing coupling between a transmitting antenna on a platform and a receiving antenna on the same platform. The isolation barrier expands the isolation capabilities of radar absorbing material (RAM) to the low frequency region by integrating dielectric loaded corrugations with the RAM. The isolation barrier includes a plurality of corrugations, each including a channel with two conductive walls and a conductive base, having a depth greater than a quarter of the wavelength corresponding to the low-frequency limit of the shared operating frequency band of the transmitting antenna and the receiving antenna. A layer of radar absorbing material (RAM) covers the corrugations.

Isolation barrier

A method for detecting a concealed material in a target comprising a body and the concealed material, the method comprising: emitting radio frequency (RF) energy toward a direction of the target, capturing a signal corresponding to a scattered RF energy reflected from the target, measuring a first mean signal level in a first frequency band of the signal, measuring a second mean signal level in a second frequency band of the signal, and detecting the concealed material when the difference between the first mean signal level and the second mean signal level is above a threshold.

Radar detection of a concealed object on a body

A method for detecting a concealed object in a target. The target may include a body and the concealed object. The method may include emitting radio frequency (RF) energy toward a direction of the target, receiving a scattered RF energy reflected from the target, generating a signal corresponding to the received scattered RF energy, comparing the signal with a plurality of stored RF scattering signatures, and detecting the concealed object when the signal matches one of a plurality of RF scattering signatures. Each of the RF scattering signatures may be associated with an object of interest.

Detection of concealed object on a body using radio frequency signatures on frequencies and polarizations

An apparatus for determining alignment of a first subsystem relative to a second subsystem. The apparatus includes a first antenna system for simultaneously transmitting a delta pattern radiation beam at a first frequency and a sum pattern radiation beam at a second frequency. The apparatus also includes a second antenna system for receiving the delta pattern radiation beam at the first frequency and the sum pattern radiation beam at the second frequency. The apparatus also includes a processor to process the received delta pattern radiation beam and sum pattern radiation beam to determine if a predetermined alignment criterion between the first antenna system and the second antenna system is satisfied.
