The present invention concerns a system for providing conditioned air to a room for rearing insect larvae. The system comprises crates for storing the insect larvae, wherein the crates are stackable to form a vertical column and wherein the crates comprise lateral cutouts disposed on opposite sides. An air inlet duct for providing conditioned air to the crates is disposed in a vertical direction and comprises at least one nozzle for each crate in a column. The position of the at least one nozzle corresponds to the position of the lateral cutout of the respective crate. The system further comprises an air outlet duct, wherein the air outlet duct is disposed in a vertical direction and wherein the air outlet duct is disposed on a side of the stacked crates opposite to the air inlet duct.

Climate system

An insect breeding device comprising includes at least one insect cage having a top wall with a non-curved and flat surface or having a top wall with a concave inner surface; a bin for holding a cleaning liquid; and a first pipe for receiving the cleaning liquid and entering the cage through a first opening; a nozzle (), coupled to the first pipe, positioned inside the at least one insect cage configured to deliver the cleaning liquid to the interior of the at least one insect cage; and a second pipe (), coupled to a second opening (), and located in the bottom wall of the cage and/or located in a side wall of the cage, in the side wall portion where the bottom wall and said side wall intersect configured to drain the cleaning liquid and the debris remaining from farming insects in the cage.

Insect breeding device

The invention relates to a tray for use in large-scale industrial insect farming. More in particular, the invention relates to a live insects tray for incubating insects prepupae and pupae, the tray having a space limited by walls, for housing insect prepupae and pupae, wherein the walls are impenetrable by an insect, and that at least one of the walls is at least partly permeable for gases, such as the top wall. Furthermore, the invention relates to a rack for holding at least one tray and relates to an assembly having said rack and at least one of said trays. The invention also relates to the use of said rack with at least one tray or said assembly for incubating insect prepupae. In addition the invention relates to a method for incubating insect prepupae and/or insect pupae, preferably of black soldier fly.

An insect breeding device comprising at least one insect cage; a bin for holding drinking water or a tap for providing drinking water; a first pipe connected to the tap for receiving the drinking water, wherein the pipe is entering the at least one insect cage through a first opening; a nozzle, coupled to the first pipe, positioned inside the at least one insect cage configured to deliver the drinking water to the interior of the at least one insect cage; and a second pipe, coupled to a second opening, different from the first opening and located in the top wall of the cage or in a side wall of the cage, in the at least one insect cage, configured to deliver conditioned air into the at least one insect cage; and a third pipe, coupled to a third opening, different from the first and second opening and located in the top wall of the cage or in a side wall of the cage opposite to the second opening, in the at least one insect cage, configured to receive the conditioned air from the at least one insect cage.

Insect drinking water supply

The invention relates to an insect breeding device. The insect breeding device comprising at least one insect cage; a bin for holding a cleaning liquid; a first pipe connected to the bin for receiving the cleaning liquid, wherein the pipe is entering the at least one insect cage through a first opening; a nozzle, coupled to the first pipe, positioned inside the at least one insect cage configured to deliver the cleaning liquid to the interior of the at least one insect cage; and a second pipe, coupled to a second opening, different from the first opening, in the at least one insect cage, configured to drain the cleaning liquid and the debris from the at least one insect cage.

The invention relates to a climate control device for controlling the temperature and humidity of air supplied to colonies of insects cultured in an industrial scale insect farm. In particular, the invention relates to a controllable air conditioning system involving a network of pipes connecting at least one cluster having at least one insect farming cage, such that air is conditionable in the cages at the cluster level. More specifically, the invention relates to a system having a central main air conditioning facility providing temperature conditioned air and absolute air humidity conditioned air to each of a number of local air conditioning devices, each separate local air conditioning device providing temperature conditioned air and absolute air humidity conditioned air to each of a plethora of clusters of insect breeding cages separately, said cages housed in a temperature conditioned farming room. This way, insects in cages housed in farming rooms are farmed under improved conditions with regard to minimized cage-to-cage temperature differences and differences in relative air humidity, due to the use of the climate control device of the invention.
