Adapter for a rolling assembly intended to be fitted to a passenger vehicle, with improved mountability and a high capacity for absorbing large deformations in the event of pinch shocks. The adapter has reinforcing element () of the axially outer end () wholly situated axially on the outside of bearing face () and radially on the outside of adapter seat (), and a main reinforcement () having a radial superposition of at least two layers of reinforcers, the reinforcers being mutually parallel within one and the same layer and crossed with one another from one layer to the next. Each of the layers of main reinforcement () comprises reinforcers which make, with a circumferential direction (XX') of the tire, an angle at least equal to 30&#xb0;, and coated with a polymer material having an elastic modulus at 10% elongation at most equal to 70 MPa.

A tire includes a carcass ply, two beads, two sidewalls, and a crown reinforcing zone. The carcass ply connects the two beads by way of the two sidewalls. The crown reinforcing zone is positioned radially external to the carcass ply. The crown reinforcing zone includes a plurality of reinforcing strips disposed in at least two layers. The reinforcing strips are coated in an elastomeric composition. A mean overlap between the reinforcing strips of the two layers is greater than 40%. The reinforcing strips are made of a thermoplastic film having a modulus greater than 0.9 GPa, and preferably greater than 2 GPa, in a main direction and in a transverse direction.

The reinforcer element of the axially outer end is entirely situated axially outside the bearing face. The body comprises, opposite the adapter seat, an annular seat protuberance, said protuberance comprising at least one rubber composition.
