A dispenser has a main hollow housing with side walls, a base and an open top which is at least partially open for dispensing material. A vertical support column is slidably mounted within the housing with horizontal ratchets and a push plate on top. A trigger component within the main hollow housing is movably connected to the housing and to the horizontal ratchets, and has an advancer arm, an opposing retractor arm and a flexible spring. The trigger component acts as a trigger, a ratcheting member and a spring and is strategically positioned in a swingable manner such that it may be rotated inwardly and released outwardly to cause advancement or retraction of the vertical support column.

The present invention is directed to a blister pack opener which includes a structure designed to receive a soft pack of individually segregated unit dosages of medication. The opener or soft pack puncturing mechanism has a base segment and a top segment hingedly connected to one another. The base segment has an orifice located thereon which is of sufficient size to receive a unit dosage section of a soft pack commonly referred to as a 'blister' and the top segment has a protrusion adapted to nest within the orifice of the bottom segment. The protrusion of the top segment has sufficient height so as to puncture a dosage unit section of a soft pack of medication. When a dosage unit or 'blister' is placed within the orifice of the bottom segment and the top segment is hingedly pushed downwardly, the protrusion on the top segment will puncture the foil or flat element of the blister pack. Preferably, the puncture mechanism has toothed edges on this protrusion to enhance puncturing. Also, in preferred embodiments, the opener has grasping protrusions which help to hold the blister pack in place during puncturing.

A dispenser has a hollow housing with sidewalls, a base and a top. The top has a cylinder for receiving piston, and a catch for permitting limited movement of the piston within the cylinder. The piston having an inlet valve for allowing air into the cylinder. The cylinder has an outlet valve which forces air into the housing. The dispenser has a tri-purpose nozzle. The nozzle has a dispensing orifice at one end and is biased in an open up position. The piston is suspended from the bottom surface of the nozzle. As such, the nozzle acts as the pump for slidably moving the piston within the cylinder. The top has a fluid outlet port opposite the position of the cylinder. The nozzle is rotatably connected to the top. In addition, there is a structure for fluidly connecting the fluid outlet port to the nozzle. That is, when the nozzle is pumped downward, the nozzle is aligned with the fluid outlet port via the structure for fluidly connecting so as to permit a fluid to travel from the housing, through the fluid outlet port, through the structure for fluidly connecting, through the nozzle and out the dispensing orifice. When the nozzle springs back to its resting position, the nozzle and fluid outlet port are not in alignment, thereby preventing air and fluid from flowing out the housing. The nozzle and structure for fluidly connecting thus acting as a valve.

The present invention is a semi-flexible captive cap closure which includes a non-removable cap that rotates between a closed and open position and has opposing squeeze points that must be biased inwardly in order to open the cap. The preferred embodiment of the present invention includes a container which has a base and a neck for retaining the cap. The neck has at least one inclined recess track which has at least one impression which is adequately sized to correspond to a protrusion located on the cap. When the cap is in a closed position a user grasps the cap at the opposing squeeze points and applies inward pressure in order to displace the protrusion from the impression and to allow rotation to an open position. The cap is maintained in an open position either by frictional contact between the track and protrusion or by a second corresponding impression. The cap further includes a dispensing orifice which is closed by the neck of the container when the cap is in a closed position and opened when the cap is in an open position.

A child-resistant cap with independent open and close ratchet sets. It includes an inner cap having a top and side walls and having inside surfaces and outside surfaces and an open bottom, and structure for attachment to a container. It also has a flanged base extending outwardly from its side walls, with the flanged base having one-way ratchet members thereon for engagement with an outer collar for locked rotation of an outer collar with the inner cap in a circular, first direction. It also has ratchets located on the outside surface of the top for engagement with an outer cap for rotation of an outer cap with the inner cap in a circular, second direction opposite from said first direction. There is an outer cap having a top and side walls and an open bottom and having inner surfaces and outer surfaces. It is rotatably attached to the inner cap and has ratchets on its inside surface of its top for engagement with the inner cap. There is also an outer collar rotatably mounted about the inner cap and the outer cap which has ratchets thereon for engagement with the ratchets located on the base flange of the inner cap.

The present invention is directed to a blister pack opener which includes a structure designed to receive a soft pack of individually segregated unit dosages of medication. The opener or soft pack puncturing mechanism has a first component, a second component and a third component which are hingedly connected to one another. The first component is a blister pusher and has a unit dosage section base protrusion thereon. The second component is a blister positioner and has an orifice located thereon which is of sufficient size to receive a unit dosage section of a soft pack commonly referred to as a 'blister' and the third component is a blister cutter/ejector and has a cutting protrusion adapted to nest within the orifice of the second component and around the base protrusion of the first component so as to cut the packaging and eject the cut piece of the packaging along with the pill. Thus, the cutting protrusion has sufficient height so as to puncture a blister or dosage unit section of a soft pack medication. When a pack is placed within the first component so that dosage unit or 'blister' is placed within the orifice of the second component, and then the second component and third component are hingedly pushed downwardly, the cutting protrusion on the third component will puncture the foil or flat element of the blister pack. Preferably, the cutting protrusion has toothed edges on this protrusion to enhance puncturing.

The present invention involves a dispenser. The dispenser includes a main hollow housing with side walls, a base and an open top which contains a manifold component for dispensing material therethrough. At least one vertical support column is included within the hollow housing and it has horizontal ratchets thereon as well as a push plate located at its top. A trigger component is also contained within the housing and it is formed of plastic material with at least one flexible portion therein. It acts as a trigger, a ratcheting member and a spring, and is strategically positioned in a hinged manner such that a side wall cut-out or other member holding the trigger component against the vertical support column ratchets may be rotated inwardly and released outwardly to cause the ratcheting mechanism to advance the support column. Thus, the trigger component has a first position and a second position wherein, when it is moved from the first position to the second position, it advances the vertical support column upwardly and when it is released and moves from its second position back to its first position, it retreats to the next lower ratchet on the support column and is set for the next advance. In one preferred embodiment, the main hollow housing has two separate components for ease of manufacturing and assembling.

The present invention is a medication container which includes a package designed to receive a softpack of individually segregated unit dosages of medication and a softpack puncturing mechanism located on a flat surface of the package. The softpack puncturing mechanism has a base segment and a top segment hingedly connected to one another. The base segment has an orifice located thereon which is of sufficient size to receive a unit dosage section of a softpack and the top segment has a protrusion adapted to nest within the orifice of the bottom segment. The protrusion of the top segment has sufficient height so as to puncture a dosage unit section of a softpack of medication.

The present invention is a spray container device for receiving, opening and spray dispensing liquid from an ampoule. It includes an upper container with a top, a bottom and side walls and has at least one top opening and at least a first bottom opening and a second bottom opening and has a vertical central axis of rotation. The top opening and bottom openings are off-centered from the central axis of rotation, the top opening and the first bottom opening being in vertical alignment so as to create a pump passage through the upper container for receiving a pump. The upper container further has an inside wall adjacent the second bottom opening of sufficient size and strength for breaking the top of an ampoule. There is also a lower container rotatably connected to and below the upper container. It has a top, a bottom and side walls and has at least one top orifice and at least one bottom orifice and has the same vertical central axis of rotation as the upper container. The top and bottom orifice are in alignment with one another and form a passage through the lower container which is adapted to receive a liquid-containing ampoule with a top of the ampoule protruding above the top of the lower container.

The present invention involves a dispenser. The dispenser includes a main hollow housing with side walls, a base and a top which is at least partially open for dispensing material therethrough. A vertical support column is included within the hollow housing and it has horizontal ratchets thereon as well as a push plate located at its top. A trigger component is also contained within the housing and it is formed of plastic material with at least one flexible portion therein. It acts as a trigger, a ratcheting member and a spring, and is strategically positioned in a hinged manner such that a side wall cut out or other member holding the trigger component against the vertical support column ratchets may be rotated inwardly and released outwardly to cause the ratcheting mechanism to advance the support column. Thus the trigger component has a first position and a second position wherein, when it is moved from the first position to the second position, it advances the vertical support column upwardly and when it is released and moves from its second position back to its first position, it retreats to the next lower ratchet on the support column and is set for the next advance.

The present invention involves a dispensing cap system for dispensing flowable material. It includes an inner cap which has an open bottom, a sidewall structure and top, as well as an orifice for dispensing which is located in the top of the inner cap. The inner cap may be attached to a container and has at least one vertical ratchet located on the outside of the sidewall structure so as to permit downward free motion and to prevent upward free motion of an outer cap, the vertical ratchet being adapted to engage such an outer cap when the outer cap is pressed downwardly. It also includes an outer cap having an open bottom, a sidewall structure and a top, the outer cap being movably fitted over the inner cap and the outer cap having an orifice for dispensing located on its top. The outer cap also has at least one vertical ratchet located on the inside of its sidewall and in alignment with the inner cap ratchet and is biased for downward free motion and upward locking of the outer cap be engaging the ratchet of the inner cap when the outer cap was pressed downwardly. The dispensing cap system also includes an outlet stem alignable with the orifices of the inner and outer caps for dispensing.

The present invention is a container for codispensing two or more semi-solid products which is operable by outside manual motion. It includes a main body which is divided into at least two compartments by a divider wall so as to form a plurality of compartments with at least a first compartment and a second compartment. It also has an outlet connected to each of the plurality of compartments. There are one or more fins located within the first compartment, this first fin having an inner edge, and being rotatably connected to the housing at the inner edge, and a second fin located in the second compartment, this second fin having an inner edge, and being rotatably connected to the housing at the inner edge. There is a component for simultaneously rotatably moving the plurality of fins so as to decrease the volume within the compartments and so as to push material therein out simultaneously for codispensing. In preferred embodiments, two fins are symmetrical and opposite one another and rotate towards one another to dispense through a common outlet.

The present invention involves a child resistant closure for containers with threaded necks. It involves an inner cap and an outer cap which engages with one another by ratchets in order to close but these ratchets do not engage when an attempt is made to open the closure. The inner cap and the outer cap are generally cylindrical and have sides and a top, although the outer cap may have an open top. The inner cap has threads on its inside and is adapted to non-removably receive the outer cap so that the outer cap is rotatably engaged therewith. The outer cap is non-removably but rotatably mounted on an engaged with the inner cap. Atleast one keyway slot is located either on the outside of the inner cap or the inside of the outer cap and there is atleast one keyway protrusion extending toward the keyway slot and located on which ever of the inner cap and outer cap does not contain the slot. There are indexes on each of the caps and when they are aligned, the keyway protrusion and the keyway slot will be aligned. The user will align the indexes or indicia and then lift up so that the protrusion fits into the keyway slot. In this manner, the outer cap engages the inner cap so that they are simultaneously rotated for opening. Upon closure, the protrusion will be pushed or dropped out of the slot and the ratchets will engage for proper closure.

The present invention involves a child resistant closure for containers with threaded necks. It involves a cylindrical inner and outer cap which engage with one another by ratchets to close the closure. These ratchets do not engage when an attempt is made to open the closure. The inner cap has threads on its inside and is adapted to non-removably receive the outer cap in that the outer cap is rotatably engaged therewith. The outer cap is non-removably but rotatably mounted on and engaged with the inner cap. At least two biased keyway slots are used and each may be located either on the outside of the inner cap or the inside of the outer cap. There are at least two biased keyway protrusions, one corresponding to each slot, and each protrusion extends toward its corresponding keyway slot. Each is located on which ever of the inner cap and outer cap does not contain the corresponding slot. There are indexes on each of the caps and when they are aligned, the keyway protrusions ad their corresponding keyway slots will be aligned. The user will align the indexes or indicia and then lift up so that the protrusions fit into their keyway slots. In this manner, the outer cap engages the inner cap so that they are simultaneously rotated for opening. Upon closure ,the protrusion will be pushed or dropped out of the slot and the ratchets will engage for proper closure.

The present invention is directed to a metered side dispensing cap system for containers such as tubes and the like. It includes a chamber unit having an inlet opening in the bottom for flow of a material from a squeezable container into the chamber. The chamber unit has an outlet opening on a sidewall located near the bottom for dispensing material from the chamber in a metered amount. A one-way valve located in the inlet opening on the bottom of the chamber unit permits flow of material through that opening and prevents backflow of material. A piston mechanism moves upwardly and downwardly within the chamber. The piston mechanism is capable of upward movement by material entering the chamber unit when a squeezable container is squeezed and material enters the chamber unit through its inlet opening. The piston is capable of downward movement when its wide top is pushed downward, so as to dispense material through the sidewall outlet opening of the chamber unit. The system is attachable to an open neck of a squeezable container.
