A hydraulic pump system is provided with a leakage fluid reclamation sub-system having connected eductor and fluid line elements that function to return hydraulic fluid leaked from around the system drive shaft to the reservoir of the hydraulic fluid pump.

Reclamation system for a hydraulic pump system

A variable displacement axial piston pump has a plurality of piston bores each connected to an inwardly angled fill port. The fill ports extend from the piston bores inwardly to the working face of the barrel to reduce the diameter of the fill circle of a pump. This decreases the velocity that must be attained by incoming fluid to thereby increase the operating speed at which the pump may be driven where the pump is filled at atmospheric pressure.

Axial piston pump

A vane motor which uses two-lip vanes has a fluid restrictor in a fluid passage which connects the inner and outer ends of each vane. High pressure fluid is supplied to the inner end of each vane as it traverses the transfer and sealing zone. This fluid flows through the fluid passage to the outer end of the vane to pressure balance the vane. In the event the outer end of a vane is separated from the cam ring the high pressure fluid at the outer end of the vane flows to the low pressure area and a pressure drop is created across the restrictor which results in a force which biases the vane towards the cam ring.
