A conveyor belt (,) is composed of a number of identical links in the formation of an endless belt, where each link comprises at least one axle (,) arranged transversely in relation to the direction of travel (,), and an outer link (,) at each side in engagement with the axle. Each outer link comprises an elongated hole for the adjacent link's axle, so that the belt can be driven in a curve in the plane of the belt. Each outer link has at least one securing hole for a transverse axle, where the coupling-together between the axle (,and the outer link (,) is effected by a separable snap-lock. The outer link is moulded as a one-piece unit in a suitable plastic material, preferably by injection moulding. The outer links (,) can also be configured in a larger version for the construction of conveyor belts for operation in self-stacking helical systems.

Transport band for conveying along a spiral path

A conveyor belt having a direction of travel includes a plurality of pivotal transverse rods extending laterally across the belt and having inner and outer ends along inner and outer edges of the belt and a plurality of connecting links disposed in a pair of spaced rows at the inner and outer ends of the rods. Each of the connecting links has a base portion and a pair of spaced legs rigidly connected to the outer ends of the base portion and each of the legs has at least one stepped portion parallel to the direction of travel. The stepped portions on opposing legs are spaced apart a relatively narrow distance at the base portion and a relatively wide distance at the opposite end thereof. The stepped portions include a substantially straight segment at the narrower stepped portion, a substantially straight segment at said wider stepped portion, and an angled segment therebetween connecting the substantially straight segments. The angled segment between the substantially straight segments of the stepped portion of the inner connecting links is greater in length than the angled segment between the substantially straight segments of the stepped portion of the outer connecting links. The shorter length of the outer angled segments maintains the direction of travel of the belt in a normal straight orientation by limiting the amount of lateral clearance between adjoining connecting links and the longer length of the inner angled segments allow adjoining inner links to fully collapse in an alternate orientation to follow paths curved laterally to one side.

Reduced radius conveyor belt

The present invention provides a conveyor belt for traveling along both straight and laterally curved paths. A plurality of rods extend across the belt and are pivotally connected together by tractive links which are at least longitudinally expandable. The orientation of one edge link is reversed such that the terminal end thereof leads in the direction of travel of the belt in order to prevent damage to the links and/or the cage drive system when the belt is driven by the cage drive in a spiral system.

Conveyor belt with asymmetric edge links

A spacer plate for a conveyor belt having transverse rods and support links. The spacer plate has a longitudinal portion having upper and lower sections, a pair of tab portions extending in opposite transverse directions from upper ends of the upper section, and a pair of through holes through lower ends off the lower sections for receiving ends of the transverse rods. The lower section has a member extending generally out from the plane of the upper section and bent to define a C-shape in a member plane perpendicular to the plane of the upper section. The C-shape member has a pair of arms through which the through holes pass.
