A wind shelter and method of installation. The wind shelter comprises a slab having a slab aperture, a pit in underlying solid material, a liner disposed within the slab aperture and pit, and a cover, the liner and cover being securely attached to the slab. The cover has at least one door and meshed windows, and is built to resemble and function as a table. The method of installation includes the steps of cutting a slab aperture in the slab, excavating a pit in the underlying material, securing installation walls against the pit walls, positioning the liner within the pit and the cover over the liner, and securely fastening the liner and cover to the slab. The slab may be the floor of a mobile home extension structure such as a porch, utility building, Florida room, driveway, sidewalk, etc.

The present invention is for a process for preparing monoacetals of hydroquinone wherein said process provides for higher yields of greater purity. Said process utilizes a two step reaction wherein a protected hydroquinone is reacted with an enol ether to form a protected intermediate. Upon hydrogenolysis of said intermediate a final product, monoacetal hydroquinone, is formed having higher degree of purity and in greater yields that the yields attributed to reactions known in the art.

A multi-step method of producing the compound methanesulfon-m-anisidide, 4'-(9-acridinylamino)-, acetate (VII), which may be in free base form and designated NSC 249992, also known as AMSA. This compound is produced by an elegant process from a starting material, 4-butyrylamino-3-methoxy-nitrobenzene, which is later transformed to methanesulfon-m-anisidide, 4'-amino- (IV) and is coupled or joined to 9-chloro-acridine, producing the chloride salt which is later converted to the acetate.

Improved methods for preparation of the tetrasodium and disodium salts ofN-(phosphonoacetyl)-L-aspartic acid (PALA) are disclosed. The present methods are well suited for preparation of these products in large amounts. Particular aspects of these methods include: (1) the initial preparation of phosphonoacetyl chloride which is employed in producing the desired products; and (2) the use of anhydrous conditions for preparation and isolation of the cyclohexylammonium salt of dibenzyl PALA.

The present methods are well suited for preparation of these products in large amounts. A particular aspect of these methods includes a water-ethanol washing procedure for reducing impurities, including acetic acid, sodium acetate and ethanol, to an acceptable level.
