The class definition tool stores the datastore specification, the datastore persistent object class specification, and the application program specification in a catalog. The class definition tool further uses the datastore specification and the datastore persistent object class specification to generate datastore persistent object class and schema mapper class definition and method source code, and uses the application program specification to generate subschema mapper class definition and method source code.
