A blow molded synthetic resin container having a body of generally V-shaped cross section defined by a pair of V-shaped side walls, end walls extending therebetween, and a bottom wall. A cylindrical neck is open at its upper end, and an upwardly inclined shoulder extends between the upper ends of the side and end walls and the lower end of the neck. One of the side walls has a pair of wall portions which converge inwardly of the body towards the center axis of the body and the other of the side walls has wall portions which converge outwardly from the axis of the body. The other panel has a recess therein for a label.

A closure for a container with a threaded neck has a generally cylindrical body member and a disc pivotally mounted thereon. The body member has a peripheral wall with a lower, internally threaded skirt portion and a transversely extending wall intermediate the axial length of the body member above the skirt portion. The peripheral wall and transversely extending wall define a generally cylindrical cup portion above the transversely extending wall, and the transversely extending wall has a slot adjacent the inner periphery of the peripheral wall. The disc seats in the cup portion and is pivotally mounted on the peripheral wall of the body member about its periphery spaced above the transversely extending wall. The disc has a depending leg portion which extends through the slot in the transversely extending wall, and is pivotable about the points to move the leg portion downwardly and upwardly in the slot. As a result, the leg portion may be moved downwardly through the transverse wall to engage in a recess in the neck of the container and may be moved upwardly to disengage therefrom.

A package suitable for storing and dispensing potentially dangerous materials. The package is resistant to opening by children but readily openable by adults, particularly adults having impaired manual dexterity of their hands and/or fingers. The package includes a bottle having a finish portion. The finish portion has a platform with at least one resiliently deformable pushtab secured to the platform. The resiliently deformable pushtabs contain a vertical extensions which engage the interlocking pawls on the innermost surface of the closure skirt when the closure is fully assembled onto the finish portion. To remove the closure, the opposed pushtabs must be depressed prior to unscrewing to the closure to disengage the pushtab extensions from the interlocking pawls on the closure. The package further includes a means for sealing the cap to the finish portion of the bottle when the cap is rotatably secured onto the finish portion so that after the cap is rotatably secured onto the finish portion, the cap can be rotated in a reverse direction without disengaging the pushtab and without unsealing the cap from the finish portion.
