Improvements to filtration and vessels such as for filtration and coalescing of gas streams are shown. A filter element with a partial treated region and untreated region such as providing different surface energies or other filtration characteristics are provided. Various keying arrangements for compatibility and/or rotational locking are shown between the filtration vessel, a tubular coalescing baffle, and/or filter element. The tubular coalescing baffle also may include non-louvered pore structure, which provides for more even flow in a two stage type filtration vessel to prevent premature exiting and reduction of flow velocities along the second stage, and/or may additionally or alternatively include drainage apertures such as drain slot formed along a gravitational bottom or otherwise to facilitate additional drainage of coalesced liquid as opposed to letting such liquid be forced through fluid velocity toward the open end of the tubular baffle.

Filter elements, coalescing baffles, filtration vessel and methods

A filter cartridge with easier extraction provided by a roll-out clearance region for a radial seal is provided. The filter cartridge may be a two stage filter with the seal being located between stages and usable in a filtration vessel having a central separation wall with one or more riser pipes. Also, a new vessel is disclosed with multiple diameters for first and second stages of the housing with a larger second stage diameter as compared to the first stage, which can reduce door size and/or cause fluid flow velocities to be slower at the second stage relative to the first stage.

Filter cartridge and/or multiple-diameter multiple stage filter coalescer separator

A pipeline contaminant monitoring apparatus that includes a filter housing and probe configured to isokinetically sample a portion of a pipeline gas stream. The filter housing has a filter configured to trap solid contaminants within the gas stream. A first pressure sensor is located upstream of the filter and a second pressure sensor is located downstream of the filter. A processor is coupled to the first and second pressure sensors. The processor is configured to determine a solid contaminant concentration level in the gas stream based on a rate of change of the pressure drop sensed across the filter.

System and method for remote monitoring of solid contaminant in fluids

A filter formed essentially from a staple fiber is provided. A nonwoven staple fiber is compressed in to a mat or sheet of selected porosity. The mat or sheet does not include a binder or bicomponent fibers. The staple fibers may be heat treated. The sheet is formed into a selected geometric shape and the staple fibers are thermally fused to bind the staple fibers into a porous filter element. The preferred shape is a helically wound tube or plural sheets, each sheet being self-overlapped and compressed to overlap another sheet. Each sheet is preferably heated and compressed individually and the sheets may be selected to have different porosities and densities.

Thermally bonded multi-layer felt filtration media

A filter element is provided with a cartridge locating system. The filter element includes a closed end cap and an open end cap with a tubular ring of filter media disposed between the end caps. The filter element includes an annular seal that can seal to round and non-round sealing surfaces and acts to block fluid flow between the open end cap and a pipe assembly in a pressure vessel assembly. A support bar is enclosed by the filter media and has a key. The filter element has a key receptacle to receive the key of the support bar. The user knows that the seal between the filter element and the pipe assembly is fully aligned and engaged when the key from the support bar fully enters the key receptacle of the filter element.

A dispenser adapter to improve the dispensing of thin webs from rolls of material contained in conventional dispensing boxes is specially configured to provide its benefits of antirecoil and risk free tearing to a wide range of dispensing boxes. The adapter is particularly suited to being retrofitted to commercially available dispensing boxes containing a wide range of materials such as plastic wrap, aluminum foil, and wax paper, while allowing the user to dispense these various materials by a single consistent, positively controlled, feeding and tearing action. In a preferred embodiment, a pressure plate loaded by one or more metal springs allows the user to easily exert a proportional braking action, and alternate embodiments teach the use of low cost resilient materials in various arrangements to provide the desired dynamic spring action. Additionally, a complete dispensing unit is disclosed which incorporates the teachings of the improved adapter.
