Large sample testing device, method, and system

A motion detecting device that, upon sensing motion, actuates an eclectic variety of illuminations to a proximal area of a fixture for providing functional and aesthetic benefits. The sensitivity of the motion detecting device is adjustable, and once actuated, powers on at least one light stream and or sound emanation device. Each light stream is positioned to illuminate a specific area on the fixture, or in proximity to the fixture. In various embodiments, the resultant illumination allows a user to better proximate the distance from a toilet seat, the perimeter of a toilet, the quantity and direction of water dispensing from a sink, and other similar uses. The motion detecting device may further include a light sensor to prevent illumination when light is detected, and a timer to turn off the illumination device after it has been activated for a predetermined amount of time.

Motion actuated fixture illuminator

The invention discloses a metal positioning device. The device comprises a bottom section with a front end having a downward facing lip, a second back end having a handle, a side wall on both sides of said bottom section, said side walls running the length of the bottom section and a plurality of apertures formed along a longitudinal axis of said bottom section, said apertures being dimensioned to receive and allow passage of a lever bar therethrough. The invention further discloses a method of using the metal positioning device. The invention decreases the time needed to position metal sheets and eases the job for workers.

The plug body has on its cylindrical surface an external locking groove. A method of plugging a pipeline includes the steps of welding onto the exterior of the pipeline () first () and second () spaced apart collars, each having a sealing face (A) in a plane perpendicular the pipeline () axis. A containment housing () is affixed by welding to the collars () to fully encompass a section of the pipeline () between the collars (). A tapping () machine is then removably attached to an open top of the containment housing (). Using the tapping machine () a short length of the pipeline () is cut and removed from between the collars () leaving two open exposed pipe ends (). First and second seal elements () are positioned between the collars (), Each having a forward sealing face. The seal elements () are forced apart from each other into sealing engagement with the collar sealing faces thereby closing the open, exposed ends () of the pipe ().

Apparatus, systems and methods for plugging a high temperature pipe

The expandable shelf of the invention is formed of several telescoping tubular assemblies that are supported in parallel to one another between a pair of end plates. The tubular assemblies may be press fit into the end plates. The end plates are mounted to opposed walls. A center bracket is provided to supportably mount between the end plates for embodiments having long or flexible tubes. In another embodiment, one end plate is mounted to a wall and a second end plate is supported on a floor-mounted column. A further embodiment includes support plates that are mounted to wall surfaces and further receive the end plates to support the expandable shelf. An additional embodiment includes a solid surface platform that is adjustable in length to mount onto the expandable shelf.

A method and apparatus for use in the oil well industry for running in drilling/production liners and sub-sea casings down a borehole through drilling fluid on a drill pipe using a running tool with the benefits of surge pressure reduction are disclosed. In accordance with the present invention, a surge pressure reduction tool includes a diverter device having a housing with a set of flow holes formed therein and a sliding sleeve residing within the housing having a set of flow ports formed therein. By aligning the set of flow holes of the housing with the set of flow ports of the sleeve, the tool is set in a &ldquo;surge pressure reduction&rdquo; mode. By shifting, or axially indexing, the sleeve downward, the set of flow holes is blocked by the sleeve thus setting the tool in a &ldquo;cementing&rdquo; or &ldquo;circulation&rdquo; mode. This shifting or indexing is accomplished using an indexing mechanism. The indexing mechanism of the present invention includes a spring ring which is initially compressed and set in a circumferential groove formed around the top of the sleeve. As the sleeve is shifted downward from surge reduction mode to cementing/circulation mode, the spring ring decompresses radially outward to engage a circumferential groove formed in the housing. This effectively locks the sliding sleeve in the cementing/circulation mode. In accordance with the present invention, a surge pressure reduction tool further includes a volume compensation device which enables the diverter device to be shifted axially downward into the cementing/circulation mode even where the drilling/production liner or sub-sea casing is plugged with drill cuttings or downhole debris. In the cementing/circulation mode, a flow path is established for cement or drilling fluid to flow downward from the drill pipe, through the diverter device, volume compensation device, and running tool, and out into the borehole via the drilling/production liner or sub-sea casing. In the surge pressure reduction mode, an alternative flow path is established for drilling fluid to flow upward from the borehole into the drilling/production liner or sub-sea casing, through the running tool and volume compensation device, and into an annular space between the drill pipe and the borehole via the set of flow holes of the diverter device.

A device for reducing radiation from an antenna of a portable telephone, includes a main body having an outer body with a central bore, and an antenna gripping member mounted in the bore and having an antenna receiving opening for receiving the antenna of the telephone; a radiation reducing lead shield mounted to an outer surface of the main body and extending only partially therearound for reducing electromagnetic radiation from the antenna to a person using the telephone; a cover body in surrounding relation to the main body and the radiation reducing shield, and including a cover opening in alignment with the antenna receiving opening; and indicia on the cover body for indicating an orientation of the main body on the antenna such that the radiation reducing shield is positioned on a side of the antenna which is opposite from the earpiece speaker.
