A kayak launching system provides a vertical support pole and submersible rack arms extending out from a dock beneath the water. The rack arms may be lowered to allow a kayak to be positioned above them and then raised to stabilize the kayak during entrance or exit.

A casement window hinge protects against sash sag by providing a guide arm that substantially fills the space between the sash and the window frame when the window is closed. This space-filling guide arm may be produced with lightweight thermoplastic material whose pivoting connection to the sash arm may be strengthened through a wood screw providing an axis for the pivot that may be stabilized within the sash into which the screw is driven.

A system for preparing and holding specimens for microscopic analysis including a capsule having an open end, an opposite end including at least one aperture and a reservoir. The system also includes an insert with a base including at least one aperture. The insert fits within and engages an inner wall of the reservoir to secure the insert within the reservoir. The system also includes an insertion tool configured to engage the insert. The insertion tool is sized to position the insert within the reservoir at a variety of positions within the reservoir. The insertion tool will disengage the insert once the insert is positioned within the reservoir. A method of positioning a specimen within a capsule for processing the specimen in preparation for microscopic analysis. A tray for holding a plurality of pipette tips in such a way that a lower end of each pipette tip is sealed.

Methods and devices for preparing microscopy samples

A device for holding a specimen holder, the device including a body with a slot formed therein. The slot includes an interior for receiving the specimen holder which may be a flat disk with edges and a pair of opposing sides. The disk may be made of a resilient deformable material. The slot may be sized to receive the specimen holder through an open top end and may taper from top bottom, such that the bottom end of the slot is smaller than the specimen holder. The slot further configured to contact the specimen holder along edges of the specimen holder and to allow some sideways deformation of the specimen holder without either side of the specimen holder distant from the edges coming into contact with the interior of the slot.

An improved vision panel provides a nail in retention method for holding half the panel in place during installation using inwardly extending retention arms that also provide threaded fasteners for attaching the halves of the frame together about the door, support for the glass pane, and when used with special fasteners having partially non-threaded shanks, a compression limiting spring biasing of the frame elements together.

An improved pack for parachutes for powered parachute aircraft breaks down to lie flat against the ground providing a staging area for folding the parachute and full access to the parachute to remove entrapped air. Flaps of the pack fold up around the parachute to create an enclosure. The pack may include attached bungee cords for tying it to the frame of the cockpit and may be part of a kit including line socks and frame attachment hooks.

A line retainer for use with bow fishing reels, which provide extremely low drag on the line, holds the line retained in the bottle so as to reduce the chance of snagging or catching, and yet automatically releases with release of the arrow avoiding the need for manual release as is required by conventional spin casting type reels.

The present invention provides an improved bowfishing arrow that prevents the bowfishing line from tangling with the bow string during release which can cause the arrow to snap back to cause serious injury. The improved arrow achieves this prevention by including a slide and a stop on the arrow shaft. The bowfishing line is tied to the slide which stays in front of the archer's hand and the arrow rest during drawback. After arrow release, the slide slides back to the stop, which is located close to the rearward end of the arrow. The stop is designed to not touch the arrow rest or the bow handle during release. Because the slide slides back to the rearward end of the arrow during release, the rubbing of the fishing line against the arrow shaft and thus the wear of the fishing line is greatly reduced.

A sliding shoe portion of a awning window hinge includes a cantilevered rail fitting within a channel of a track on which the shoe slides. A wedge screw placed between the fulcrum of the cantilevered portion and its open end deforms the rail to control the clearance between the rail and channel. The wedge screw may be displaced toward one longitudinal end of the shoe allowing its access when the awning hinge is assembled to a window and window frame with attached operator.

A vision panel assembly for a fire door includes a frame structure and a glass vision panel which are mounted in a rectangular opening in the fire door. The frame structure includes a pair of frames which are anchored in grooves in the fire door and which are clamped against the glass vision panel. One frame is provided with fastener bars which are threadedly engaged by fastening screws for securing the frames together. Panel support elements extend through openings in the fastener bars for engaging edges of the glass vision panel to provide support therefor.
