A wireless relay wirelessly transmits Commercial Mobile Alert System (CMAS) information to wireless user devices. In the wireless relay, network circuitry wirelessly receives a CMAS broadcast having the CMAS information from a wireless communication network. The network circuitry responsively generates a wireless relay instruction having the CMAS information. The network circuitry transfers the wireless relay instruction to user circuitry in the wireless relay. The user circuitry receives the wireless relay instruction having the CMAS information, and in response, wirelessly transmits the CMAS information to the wireless user devices.

Disclosed are methods and systems for a UE to expedite handover through advanced obtaining and reporting of a network identifier. The UE could detect for possible handover a target cell that a target base station provides. In response to the detecting, the UE could determine that the target base station is of a particular class of base stations and, responsive to determining that the target base station is of the particular class, could determine and report the network identifier to a source base station serving the UE. In this way, if the source base station does not have a record of the network identifier, the source base station would not need to request the UE to determine and report that identifier, and could instead use the reported network identifier as basis to engage in handover signaling to process handover of the UE to the target cell, thereby expediting handover.

Selective advanced obtaining and reporting of identification of detected cell to facilitate expedited handover

A wireless network of a first type receives a request for network entry from a mobile station. A service continuity query is sent to a service node. A service continuity response is received from the service node. The service continuity response includes a network access identifier. The network access identifier is determined to be associated with an existing session on a wireless network of a second type. The existing session is using a mobile internet protocol address. On the wireless network of the first type, a session is assigned the mobile internet protocol address.

Cross-technology session continuity

This invention provides apparatus for collecting parameter disturbance information from each connected apparatus which can disturb measuring vital signs, and broadcasting a message regarding the disturbance and a coordinating clock signal to all apparatus. Connected sensors susceptible to parameter disturbances identify them from the message and suppress their audible alarm during an interval given in the message. This eliminates false audible alarms caused by such disturbances. The disturbance interval can be extended for later disturbances unless it is a new source or disturbance type and the alarm is already suppressed. A brickwall timer limits the total maximum suppressed interval to a safe maximum. A recovery timer allows a sensor to recover from a parameter disturbance before responding to a subsequent one.
