The present application includes apparatuses and service methods including a valve cover assembly for an internal combustion engine. The valve cover assembly optionally including: a valve cover; a base extension coupled to the valve cover and having a recess that receives at least a portion of a rocker arm therein; and a grommet coupled to at least the base extension, the grommet having one or more openings for passage of one or more fuel tubes into the recess to deliver one or more fuels to a fuel injector. The at least one of the valve cover and the base extension is removable from the internal combustion engine without disturbing the one or more fuel tubes to provide access to the rocker arm for performing a valve lash adjustment thereon.

An emission module for treating exhaust gas including a housing, a first catalyst substrate positioned within the housing and having an inlet end, the first catalyst substrate defining a plurality of flow passages extending longitudinally from the inlet end, and a first restrictor plate positioned at the inlet end of the first catalyst substrate to block exhaust flow through a first portion of the plurality of flow passages while allowing exhaust flow through the remainder of the plurality of flow passages.

A leak detection tool for a double walled fuel rail system is provided. The tool includes a body having a first end and a second end distal with respect to the first end. The tool includes a first passage extending from the first end at least partially towards the second end. The tool includes a second passage axially aligned with and extending from the first passage towards the second end. The tool includes a seat defined at an intersection of the first passage and the second passage. The tool also includes a sealing element provided in association with the seat within the second passage. The tool further includes a spring element provided within the second passage and in contact with the sealing element. The first end is configured to block fluid communication between outer passages of adjacent portions of the double walled fuel rail system.

An internal combustion engine includes a cylinder receiving air during operation through an intake air fluid passage, an engine component that at least partially forms a section of the intake air fluid passage, and a gas diffuser having a tip disposed within the intake air fluid passage. A gas injector housing is connected to the body portion of the gas diffuser. The gas diffuser is structurally interchangeable with other gas diffusers such that gas dispersion in various engine applications can be modified by installing an appropriate gas diffuser and otherwise maintaining common engine parts.

System and method for introducing gas into engine cylinder

An exhaust system for a power system contained in an engine compartment. The exhaust system includes a mount for two or more exhaust treatment devices and an enclosure surrounding the two or more exhaust treatment devices. The enclosure defines a space with a higher temperature than a space defined by the engine compartment during steady state operation of the power system. At least one electronic or fluid device is coupled to the enclosure or mount and located on an exterior of the enclosure.

A tank assembly is provided for a machine. The tank assembly may have a tank with a plurality of sides connected to each other to substantially enclose a volume. A first side of the plurality of sides has an upper surface and a lower surface, and defines an opening into the volume and a first rotational stop feature at the opening. The tank assembly may also have a mounting flange with an upper member configured to engage the upper surface of the first side, a lower member configured to engage the lower surface of the first side, and a second rotational stop feature. The tank assembly may additionally have a resilient member disposed between the tank and the mounting flange. The resilient member may be configured to substantially seal an interface between the tank and the mounting flange and to bias the second rotational stop feature toward the first rotational stop feature.

An exhaust treatment system for machine is disclosed that includes a burner body having an inlet for receiving a flow of exhaust, an outlet for the exhaust flow to exit, an opening and a receiving mount disposed around the opening. A fuel injector head is mounted over the opening in any one of a plurality of angular positions relative to the body. The burner body includes a plurality of mounting pads extending at least partially and circumferentially around the burner body for coupling a support bracket to the burner body in any one of a plurality of positions relative to the burner body. The support bracket may be used to couple the burner to a fixture device such as a cradle for supporting other exhaust treatment system components.

A removable exhaust treatment unit for an aftertreatment assembly is provided. The removable exhaust treatment unit include a housing, at least one exhaust treatment element coupled within the housing, and a flange on one end of the housing. The removable exhaust treatment unit also includes a plurality of apertures on the flange configured to receive a plurality of fasteners. The removable exhaust treatment unit further includes at least one handle coupled to the flange.

An exhaust system is disclosed. The exhaust system may have an emissions control system including a mount and at least one exhaust treatment device secured to the mount. The exhaust system may also have a mounting assembly including a platform and a base frame. The emissions control system may be secured to the platform. The mounting assembly may be configured to position the emissions control system substantially adjacent to a power source. The platform may be movable relative to the base frame between a first position and a second position.

A cooling device for emissions system electronics is disclosed. The cooling device may have a mount for an exhaust treatment device. The mount may have a framework comprising a plurality of rigid members. The cooling device may also have a passageway located within at least one rigid member of the plurality of rigid members. The passageway may be configured to transmit a flow of coolant. The cooling device may further have a plate coupled to the at least one rigid member and at least one electronic device coupled to the plate. The at least one electronic device may be associated with the exhaust treatment device.

A plurality of injector hold-down clamps () is arranged to connect, one each, each of a plurality of fuel injectors () to an internal combustion engine (). Each fuel injector forms a neck region (), and each clamp surrounds each injector around the neck region, such that a plurality of annular volumes () is defined, one each, between the neck region of each injector and each injector clamp. Each annular volume collects a quantity of lubrication oil during operation of the internal combustion engine such that the volume of oil collected in each respective annular volume removes heat from the respective fuel injector.

Cooling arrangement for a fuel injector and method

A fuel system for an engine is disclosed. The fuel system has a common source of pressurized fuel, at least one injection device, an exhaust treatment device, and a regeneration device. The at least one injection device is configured to inject fuel from the common source into a combustion chamber of the engine. The exhaust treatment device is configured to remove particulate matter from an exhaust flow of the engine. The regeneration device is configured to inject fuel from the common source into at least one of the exhaust treatment device and the exhaust flow.
