A rebar installation system that uses rebar drive stations to secure rebar against the inner surface of a coil for securing thereto. The system may increase the ease and speed with which the rebar can be attached while reducing the amount of manpower necessary to complete the project.

A leg positioning and training device for a golfer is disclosed. The device is characterized by the structure including platform having a foot base plate rotatably mounted thereon for the golf's rear foot, wherein the foot base plate is adjustable in two planes. The footbase plate includes a segment that extends upwardly from the base plate in receiving relation to the user's foot and ankle, and this segment is angularly adjustable with respect to a plane that is substantially normal to the foot base plate. A strain gauge is operatively attached to that segment for receiving and measuring force applied by the user, and a display indicator is provided in operative connection to the strain gauge, whereby the user may see a representation of the force applied thereto during a golf swing.

A fluid mixing apparatus for mixing a first fluid with a second fluid and to prevent acoustic hammer effects, utilizing a condensing tube array. In accordance with one embodiment of the invention, a direct steam injection process heater is provided, having a first body for introducing a first fluid, generally a liquid or slurry, a second body for introducing a second fluid, generally steam, an orifice plate disposed between the two bodies, and a valve member for movement to and away from the orifice plate. The orifice plate has a plurality of frusto-conical holes which are engaged preferably by an equal number of complementary-configured, conically-tipped pins mounted onto the valve member. An actuator moves the valve member relative to the orifice plate such that the pins penetrate and partially or wholly obscure the holes, thus regulating the flow of the second fluid through the holes. The mixing area of the first body is equipped with a condensing tube array, having a plurality of condensing tubes rigidly secured in relation to each other by a plurality of retaining rings and secured in the first body by a plurality of studs. The condensing tubes are preferably arranged such that their longitudinal axes coincide with the longitudinal axes of the pins and the center points of the holes, and such that an annular space exists between the entrance end of the condensing tube and the face of the orifice plate.

A fluid mixing apparatus for mixing a first fluid with a second fluid is provided. The fluid mixing apparatus includes a first housing, a second housing, a first actuator corresponding with the first housing, and a second actuator corresponding with the second housing. The first housing is provided with an inlet for supplying a first fluid such as water in the form of steam, and a nozzle outlet attached to a nozzle end of the first housing. The second housing is coupled to the nozzle end of the first housing and includes a inlet for supplying a second fluid such a slurry. A mixing tube, which may be slidable, is contained within the second housing for mixing the first fluid and the second fluid therein before passing the mixture out of the second housing. Alternatively, collar member may be circumferentially mounted around a stationary mixing tube contained in the second housing, or alternatively, around the nozzle outlet of the first housing. Depending upon whether the mixing tube is slidable, or where collar member is mounted if utilizing a stationary mixing tube, a circumferential gap is created between nozzle outlet and the collar member when the collar member is mounted on the mixing tube, and between the mixing tube and the collar member when the collar member is mounted on the nozzle outlet. The sliding mixing tube or collar member is made adjustable via a second actuator which is capable of adjusting the sliding mixing tube or the collar member so as to narrow or widen the gap and to control the pressure of the second fluid introduced into the mixing tube.

In order to enable measurement of liquid flow through channels noninvasively without contact or interference with the flow through the channel, detectors of liquid level and velocity through the channel are installed above and below the channel and transmit and receive only ultrasonic signals. A flow measuring system is operated by their detectors and measures flow in terms of the product of the area through which the liquid flows and its velocity.

A pressure rise tube sampler for sampling liquid flowing in a conduit under high pressure including a pressure rise tube, a side arm sampler in communication with the rise tube, a first valve arrangement for permitting high pressure liquid to enter the rise tube from a high pressure liquid conduit, a liquid level control for closing the first valve arrangement after the liquid level in the rise tube has exceeded the level of the side arm and for opening a second valve arrangement to permit the liquid to be forced from the rise tube by the air which it compressed in entering the rise tube, and a third valve arrangement in the side arm for permitting liquid to be discharged therefrom into a container for analysis purposes.

The ball-pitching apparatus of this invention has a ball-holding container affixed to one end of an arm. A baseball can be releasably supported within the container. The arm is pivotally mounted to a base such that opposed ends of the arm may be pivoted with respect to the base. A pitching spring and an arresting spring are affixed to the base. The remaining end of the pitching spring is connected to the arm at a location between the ball-holding container and the pivot point, while the remaining end of the arresting spring is secured to the end of the arm which is opposite to the baseball-holding container. The springs normally bias the arm into a position of rest, and when the arm is yieldably forced to pivot in opposition to the pitching spring, energy is stored therewithin. The springs have respective ends that are anchored to a common point on the base. When the arm is released, the pitching spring accelerates the arm with sufficient velocity to accelerate the ball, so that when the arresting spring arrests the pivotal movement of the arm, the baseball leaves the container and continues to travel through the air.

A liquid sampler including a force main sampling chamber, a seal leg having an end portion immersed in liquid in said sampling chamber, a dam in the sampling chamber for maintaining the liquid at a predetermined minimum elevation therein, a draw tube in communication with the seal leg, a pump for supplying either compressed air or vacuum to the draw tube, first control means for causing the pump to supply vacuum to the draw tube only when a sample is to be taken, a side arm in the draw tube for receiving liquid, second control means including non-contact liquid-level sensing means in the draw tube for causing the pump to supply pressure rather than vacuum after the liquid reaches a predetermined level in the draw tube, and circuit means for terminating operation of the sampling cycle in the event a sample is not taken within a predetermined time period after the sampling cycle is initiated.
