An override device is described for use with a coupler of a circuit breaker. The override device comprising a cam member coupled to the coupler. The cam member comprising a slot. The override device also including an actuator coupled to the cam member and configured to move the cam member between an over-current protection position and an over-current relay override position and a push member coupled to the coupler. The slot configured to guide the push member to a first position when the actuator moves the cam member to the over-current protection position. The slot further configured to guide the push member to a second position when the actuator moves the cam member to the over-current relay override position to permit current flow through the circuit breaker.

Override device for a circuit breaker and methods of operating circuit breaker

A switching assembly having an interlock device for a selector switch is provided. The interlock device includes a flapper member rotatably coupled to a base member. The flapper member has an aperture disposed proximate to an aperture of a panel such that the selector switch extends through the apertures. The flapper member further includes an indented region and has a first operational position proximate to the panel and a second operational position disposed outwardly from the panel. When an arm portion of the selector switch is disposed within the indented region of the flapper member at the second rotational position and the flapper member is rotated to the second operational position, then the arm portion cannot be rotated outside of the indented region.

A trip unit having a current carrying element, an anchor having an up and a down position, and an oscillator having a first position and a second position. The oscillator in the first position permits the anchor to move into the down position, and the oscillator in the second position blocks the anchor from moving into the down position. Additionally, a magnetic yoke surrounds the current carrying element and the anchor. A magnetic flux flowing through the magnetic yoke moves the anchor into the down position. A magnetic yoke surrounding the current carrying element and the oscillator provides a magnetic flux flowing through the magnetic yoke moves the oscillator into the first position, or into the second position.

A trip unit having a current leading element, an anchor having an up and a down position, and an oscillator having a first position and a second position. The oscillator in the first position permits the anchor to move into the down position, and the oscillator in the second position blocks the anchor from moving into the down position. Additionally, a magnetic yoke surrounds the current leading element and the anchor. A magnetic flux flowing through the magnetic yoke moves the anchor into the down position. A magnetic yoke surrounding the current leading element and the oscillator provides a magnetic flux flowing through the magnetic yoke moves the oscillator into the first position, or into the second position.
