A system for controlling access to resources in an apparatus when the apparatus is not active. Emerging technologies may allow information to be accessed in an apparatus memory without the operating system of the apparatus facilitating the access. In such instances, a subsystem in the apparatus may become active upon reception of wireless signals, and may grant direct access to memory. An access control configuration for the subsystem may be implemented in order to control memory access even when other software systems are inactive. The subsystem access control configuration may be configured (e.g., by the user) when the apparatus is active, and may be established (e.g., installed or updated) upon subsystem activation.

Security configuration for memory access control

An apparatus, a computer program product and a method is provided for data accessing during wireless communication. The example embodiment comprises receiving, through a transceiver at an apparatus, a first wireless signal comprising payload data and one or more indications instructing write operation for the payload data (), and powering down the transceiver at least partly while storing the received payload data into an associated memory () within the apparatus according to the one or more indications.

Data access during wireless communication

A method and apparatus of synchronizing pulsed wireless communication between a first transceiver and a second transceiver. It includes the steps of transmitting a pulse signal from a first transceiver to a second transceiver; transmitting a reflection signal from the second transceiver to the first transceiver if the transmitted pulse signal is received at the second transceiver within an active reception period of the second transceiver; and detecting the reflection pulse to determine synchronization between the first transceiver and the second transceiver. Embodiments of the invention also relate to an apparatus for carrying out the method. In one embodiment, the reflection signal is generated by a super-regenerative oscillator.

Method of and apparatus for synchronization

A dual mode interrogation is carried out by sending narrow band radio frequency interrogation (RFID) signal for narrow band RFID communication units, the narrow band signal comprising substantially continuous periods, and by sending a high data rate RFID interrogation signal during the substantially continuous periods of the narrow band RFID signal so that two different types of RFID communication units are interrogated substantially simultaneously.

An apparatus for providing a data encoding scheme may include an encoder. The encoder may be configured to determine, for a digital input value comprising a particular number of bits, whether more than half of the bits of the digital input value have a high value. The encoder may be further configured to encode the digital input value by inverting each of the bits of the digital input value in response to a determination that more than half of the bits of the digital input value have the high value. Corresponding method and computer program product, and a decoder and decoding method are also provided.

Method, apparatus and computer program product for providing a data encoding/decoding scheme

A super-regenerative transceiver that has an antenna interface for an antenna is self-tuned with a self-tuning unit configured. The self-tuning unit makes the transceiver to repeatedly perform a self-tuning cycle until the amplitude meets a predetermined detection condition or a predetermined criterion is met. The self-tuning cycle involves the following: transmitting to the antenna a probe signal with one or more pulses; receiving from the antenna a ringing detection signal; determining if the ringing detection signal reflects tails of the probe signal with amplitude meeting a predetermined detection condition; and adjusting of the tuning of the super-regenerative transceiver if the amplitude does not meet the predetermined detection condition.
