According to the present invention, a switching method and a switching device () are disclosed for providing a multilink connection between a subscriber () and a network (), the multilink connection consisting of a plurality of physical connections taken by the subscriber (). The switching device () comprises a plurality of converting means () each converting, upon activation, physical connections into a logical connection to the network () and converting a logical connection from the network () into physical connections. Furthermore, the switching device () comprises control means () for accepting a connection from the subscriber (), for detecting that the connection is a physical connection belonging to a multilink connection, for activating one of the converting means () for the detected multilink connection, and for directing the accepted connection and subsequently accepted physical connections belonging to the detected multilink connection to the converting means () activated for this multilink connection.

Effective multilink flow handling

A procedure for setting up a call in a wireless local loop based on mobile communication technology in which terminal units are connected via a radio link to an access node and from the access node to a wired network local exchange via a standard V5 interface in which checking functions consistent with a mobile communication specification are carried out is disclosed herein. To accelerate call setup, checking functions are carried out during voice mode connection of the call.

Procedure for setting up a call in a wireless local loop

A telecommunication system for a register recall, said system comprising a local exchange (LE), an access node (AN) connected to the local exchange via a V5 interface, a wireless link system connected to the access node, and terminal equipment (MS) connected via the wireless link system to the access node. According to the invention, the system comprises elements (MS, AN) by means of which a request to set a current call into hold state is sent from the terminal equipment to the access node, a response message rejecting the request to set the current call into hold state is sent from the access node to the terminal equipment and a register recall request is sent from the access node to the local exchange.

According the the present invention, before receipt of the scanning message is acknowledged, the concentrating subscriber interface is scanned to find in it a free module line or time slot for the call and the free module line or time slot is specified.

Procedure for scanning or disconnecting a module line in a V5.2 access node

Procedure for releasing the connection between a user port and an associated channel, or voice time slot, in an access node (AN) connected to a local exchange (LE) via a V5.2 interface. According to the invention, in a situation where there is a break in the V5.2 interface signalling channels, the connection between a user port and the associated channel may be left unreleased. In this case, the unsuccessful release of the connection between the subscriber port and the associated channel is stored in memory and the operation for releasing the connection between the subscriber port and the associated channel is carried out again.
