An electronic imaging device includes a display unit and a barrier layer. The display unit includes scan lines for transferring select signals, data lines for transferring data signals corresponding to first and second images formed according to one or more input signals, and pixels connected with the scan and data lines. The barrier layer includes first barriers and second barriers corresponding to the first barriers. The first image is displayed during a first period of a unit period during which an image of a single frame is displayed. The second image is displayed during a second period different from the first period. The first barriers are driven according to the first image, the second barriers are driven according to the second image, and a region of the barrier layer corresponding to a mixed region in which the first and second images coexist is a non-transmission region.

Electronic imaging device and driving method therefor

A barrier device and a display device including the barrier device, include a plurality of column barrier electrodes and a plurality of row barrier electrodes. In the barrier unit, the column barrier electrodes are divided as a plurality of first column barrier electrodes and a plurality of second column barrier electrodes. Crossing regions of the first column barrier electrode and the plurality of row barrier electrodes are different from crossing regions of the second column barrier electrode and the plurality of row barrier electrodes. The barrier device improves image quality of stereoscopic images displayed by the display device.

An electronic display device including a display unit for displaying an image and a light controller disposed in front of the display unit. The light controller includes a polarizing switch for controlling a polarizing direction using an electrical signal, and a pattern polarizer for controlling light transmission in cooperation with the polarizing switch. The polarizing switch has first and second common electrodes facing each other and a liquid crystal layer located between the first and second common electrodes. The pattern polarizer has a plurality of polarizing portions and a plurality of non-polarizing portions alternately arranged in a first direction.

A three-dimensional display device includes an image display portion displaying a left eye image and a right eye image; and a parallax barrier facing the image display portion and directing the left eye image and the right eye image displayed by the image display portion towards a left eye and a right eye of a user, respectively. An electronic image device and a driving method thereof. An image of one frame is displayed in a frame period divided into at least two periods including first and second periods. A barrier layer includes a first barrier driven during the first period and a second barrier driven during the second period. The same plane image is repeatedly displayed during the first and second periods in an area for displaying the plane image on the display unit, and a first image displayed during the first period and a second image displayed during the second period are respectively images combined in different sequences in an area for displaying a stereoscopic image on the display unit.

Electronic display device and method thereof

An electronic display device using a barrier includes a display unit displaying an image corresponding to a two dimension (2D) or a three dimension (3D), and a barrier facing the display unit and providing a 2D image or 3D image to a user. 2D/3D liquid crystal display device and method for driving the same

An electronic display device having viewing-angle adjusting and stereoscopic-image displaying functions. The display device includes a display unit for displaying an image and a liquid crystal barrier disposed in front of the display unit. The barrier includes: first and second substrates facing each other; a liquid crystal layer disposed between the first and second substrates; and a first controller for controlling light transmission, the first controller being disposed at the first substrate facing the liquid crystal layer and including first electrodes spaced apart from each other by an interval along a first direction of the liquid crystal barrier, second electrodes arranged between the first electrodes along the first direction, and a third electrode insulated from the first and second electrodes; and a second controller for adjusting a viewing angle, the second controller being disposed at the second substrate facing the liquid crystal layer and including one or more electrodes.

A three-dimensional display device includes an image display portion for time-sharing a left eye image and a right eye image, and a parallax barrier for separating the left and right eye images provided from the image display portion into a direction of a left eye and a right eye of a user, respectively, by using a first and a second electrode set. A method includes applying a first driving voltage to the first electrode set during a first period, and applying a second driving voltage to the second electrode set during a second period. The second driving voltage has a level different from that of the first driving voltage.

Driving method of three-dimensional display device

A three-dimensional display device includes an image display portion displaying left and right eye images, and a parallax barrier directing the left and right eye images respectively towards left and right eyes of a user. The parallax barrier includes first electrodes located on a first substrate, a first connection electrode electrically connecting the first electrodes, a first terminal electrode connected to an end of the first connection electrode, a first connection terminal connected to the first terminal electrode, second electrodes located between the first electrodes, a second connection electrode electrically connecting the second electrodes, a second connection terminal connected to an end of the second connection electrode, a common electrode located on a second substrate facing the first substrate, and a liquid crystal layer disposed between the first and second substrates. The first terminal electrode has a lower electric resistance than the first electrodes and the second electrodes.
