A de-hydrogenation catalyst and its use in dehydrogenation of hydrocarbons. The catalyst has low cracking activity and comprises gallium or gallium and platinum on an essentially non-acidic and amorphous alumina-phosphate or silica-alumina-phosphate support with an empirical chemical composition of [Al2O3][SiO2][P2O5], wherein Y is between 0 and 0.2 and Z is between 0.01 and 1.1, with a BET surface area above 50 m/g, as measured by N2 adsorption experiment.

Catalyst for propane dehydrogenation to propylene

A process is presented for the management of sulfur on a catalyst. The catalyst is a dehydrogenation catalyst, and sulfur accumulates during the dehydrogenation process. Sulfur compounds are stripped from the spent catalyst and the catalyst is cooled before the regeneration process. The process includes controlling the amount of sulfur that needs to be removed from the catalyst before regeneration.

Process for managing sulfur on catalyst in a light paraffin dehydrogenation process

A process is presented for the treatment of spent catalyst to manage sulfur-containing compounds on the catalyst. The catalyst may be a dehydrogenation catalyst, where sulfur accumulates during a dehydrogenation process. Sulfur compounds are stripped from the spent catalyst and the catalyst may be cooled before a regeneration step. The process includes controlling removal of sulfur compounds from the spent catalyst before regeneration.

A process is presented for the dehydrogenation of paraffins. The process utilizes heated air for the combustion of a fuel within the dehydrogenation reactor to provide the heat of reaction for oxidative dehydrogenation. The nitrogen in the air is utilized as a diluent. A paraffin feedstream is mixed with a fuel, and the fuel/paraffin feedstream is mixed with an oxidant air stream at the inlet of dehydrogenation reactor.

A novel catalyst composite is disclosed. Also disclosed is a use for the novel composite. The catalyst composite comprises a Group VIII noble metal component, a Group IA or IIA metal component, and a component selected from the group consisting of tin, germanium, lead, indium, gallium, thallium, or mixtures thereof, all on an alumina support comprising essentially theta-alumina, having a surface area from about 50 to about 120 m /g, an apparent bulk density of at 0.5 g/cm and a mole ratio of the Group VIII noble metal component to the component selected from the group consisting of tin, germanium, lead, indium, gallium, thallium or mixtures thereof in the range from about 1.5 to about 1.7.

Dehydrogenation catalyst composition

An improved process for the isomerization of non-equilibrium C.sub.8 aromatics is presented which utilizes a novel catalytic composition. This catalyst comprises phosphorus-containing alumina, a gallium component, and crystalline aluminosilicate zeolite having a silica to alumina ratio of at least 12. The isomerization process has a particular utility for the conversion of ethylbenzene without the deleterious loss of xylene.
