An illustrative example embodiment of a display includes a cover, a plurality of display panels that collectively establish a display area, and a polarizer between the display panels and the cover. The polarizer is coextensive with the entire display area.

An illustrative example assembly includes a display having a first side for displaying at least one image and a second side facing opposite the first side. The display includes a first portion having a first plurality of layers between the first side and the second side. The display includes a second portion having a second plurality of layers between the first side and the second side. The second plurality of layers includes at least one additional layer more than the first plurality of layers. A camera is situated near the second side of the display with a field of view of the camera at least partially aligned with the first portion of the display.

A method of calibrating a vehicle electrical system having a data bus includes transmitting calibration data to a calibration data device, such as a memory card, associated with an electronic device, such as a radio, simultaneous to other vehicle assembly steps; and transferring at least a portion of the calibration data from the electronic device to electronic modules coupled to the data bus upon a triggering event, such as application of electric power to the vehicle electrical system. The electronic device for transferring the calibration data includes a processor capable of being coupled to the data bus and having software capable of performing calibration procedures on the electronic modules, an interface coupled to the processor and the calibration data device and capable of receiving data from the calibration data device, and hardware and/or software for enabling the processor to transfer a portion of the data from the calibration data device through the data bus to enable the software to perform calibration procedures on the electronic modules.

Method to provide off-line transfer of vehicle calibration data

A tuneable radio and method for automatically adjusting the seek sensitivity alignment for seek operations. The radio has a radio receiver for receiving broadcast radio wave signals, and a tuner adjustable for selecting from a plurality of radio wave signal channels. A detector detects signal strength of the received radio wave signals, and a seek input allows a user to initiate a seek operation to select a signal channel having a signal strength exceeding a seek sensitivity threshold. A controller calculates an average signal value and adjusts the seek sensitivity threshold based on the average value. The controller adjusts the seek sensitivity when it is determined that the radio has travelled beyond a minimum distance.

A method is provided for aligning the center frequency of an infrared transmitter. The method comprises the steps of: (a) providing a voltage-controlled oscillator for driving the infrared transmitter, where the oscillator is adapted to receive a bias voltage from a microprocessor; (b) applying a bias voltage to the oscillator; (c) receiving an output signal from the infrared transmitter into an infrared receiver; (d) determining a frequency associated with the output signal; and (e) adjusting the bias voltage based on the frequency associated with the output signal, thereby aligning the center frequency of the infrared transmitter.

The present invention provides an HVAC fan control that includes a front fan switch, controller, rear fan switch, rear fan control circuit and a fan motor. The front fan switch and the rear fan switch electrically connect to the controller. Also, the fan motor is electrically connected to the rear fan control circuit and a front fan switch. Accordingly, the controller is responsive to inputs form the rear fan switch to operate the rear fan control circuit and select a desired fan motor speed when a logical ON condition is provided by the front fan switch.

A control system automatically determines the presence of an auxiliary control. The system includes a controlled device and a main control. The controlled device includes a main control input and an auxiliary control input. If an auxiliary control is present, a discernible non-zero default signal is supplied on the auxiliary control input of the controlled device, when no inputs of the auxiliary control are asserted. This advantageously allows for the verification of correct assembly (i.e., determination of the presence or non-presence of an auxiliary control) without technician intervention.
