Embodiments contemplate wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) transmissions of different types of uplink channels and/or signals in a system deployment where multiple destination points may exist. Some embodiments contemplate that a WTRU may select the destination point of a transmission on a dynamic basis. In one or more systems where destination point selection from among multiple potential destination points may be possible for a WTRU transmission, some embodiments contemplate the determination of the handling of hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) retransmissions and for different power headroom reporting mechanisms. Embodiments also contemplate the reduction and/or inhibition of WTRU transmissions to destination points to which the WTRU may have lost connectivity.

Multipoint transmission in wireless communication

Methods and apparatuses for accessing a wireless network are provided herein. A method according to at least one embodiment includes receiving a transmission including system information indicating a random access channel (RACH) configuration. The RACH configuration may indicate one or more RACH occasions and one or more preambles, each of the RACH occasions associated with at least one of the one or more preambles. The method may include receiving one or more reference signals and transmitting one of the preambles in a RACH occasion that is associated with the transmitted preamble. The transmitted preamble may be selected for transmission based on a measurement of the received one or more reference signals, and wherein the transmitted preamble is transmitted using beamforming parameters derived based on the received one or more reference signals.

Method and apparatus for accessing a wireless network

Systems, apparatuses, and methods are disclosed for receiving downlink control information (DCI) that may include an indication of a reference measurement resource (RMR), receiving an indication of a measurement configuration, and receiving an indication of a feedback resource configuration. A measurement report based on the indication of an RMR, an indication of a measurement configuration, and an indication of a feedback resource configuration may be generated and may be transmitted to a network device.

Systems and methods for reference signal measurements in wireless systems

Techniques for uplink power control (e.g., for New Radio (NR)) are disclosed. A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) may determine that the WTRU is to perform a first and a second transmissions using a first and a second transmission beams. The WTRU may determine an uplink transmission power for one or more of the first or second transmissions. For example, if the angular separation of the first and the second transmission beams is greater than a first separation threshold, the WTRU may determine the uplink transmission power having a first maximum power level parameter and a second maximum power level parameter. If the angular separation of the first and the second transmission beams is less than a second separation threshold, the WTRU determine the uplink transmission power having a shared maximum power level parameter. The WTRU may transmit the first and second transmissions using the first and second transmission beams, respectively.

Uplink power control

A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) may monitor LBT subbands to determine when a COT is activated. A WTRU may vary monitoring based on whether the WTRU received a full or partial COT structure. A WTRU may interpret a scheduling grant based on the set of acquired LBT subbands. A WTRU may determine a channel access priority (CAP) associated with a COT. A WTRU may indicate a CAP used to acquire a COT. A WTRU may receive an indication of a CAP used by a network to start a COT. A WTRU may determine a logical channel restriction based on a CAP associated with the COT. A WTRU may determine whether a logical channel may be included in a transmission during a COT based on a logical channel restriction. A transmission may be during a COT via a subband(s).

Shared channel occupancy time operation

Systems, methods, and instrumentalities are disclosed for uplink (UL) transmissions in wireless systems. The systems, methods and instrumentalities may include a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) with a receiver configured to receive one or more uplink (UL) grants that may include allocations associated with a regular UL (RUL) carrier and a supplementary UL (SUL) carrier. The RUL and SUL carriers may be associated with a common downlink (DL) carrier of a serving cell. The WTRU may include a processor configured to select data from one or more logical channels for transmission in accordance with the allocations. The WTRU may include a transmitter configured to transmit data from one logical channel on the RUL carrier and to transmit data from another logical channel on the SUL carrier in accordance with the allocations.

Supplementary uplink transmissions in wireless systems

Methods, apparatus and systems for enabling interference avoidance, for example from self and neighboring interference are disclosed. In one representative method implemented in a Wireless Transmit/Receive Unit (WTRU) using time-frequency (TF) resources in first and second directions, the method includes comprising TF resource muting or symbol muting, by the WTRU, one or more TF resources for communication in the first direction based on information associated with a communication in the second direction or subframe shortening, by the WTRU, by one or more TF resources for communication in the first direction based on information associated with a communication in the second direction.

Methods, apparatus and systems for interference management in a full duplex radio system

A receiver bandwidth adaptation for radio access technologies (RATs) may be for a New Radio (NR) or 5G flexible RAT. A WTRU control channel (e.g., receiver) bandwidth may change, for example, based on monitoring a downlink channel for an indication using a bandwidth (BW) associated with a first BW configuration. The indication may include a signal to change the receiver BW. The WTRU may change the receiver BW associated with the first BW configuration to a second BW configuration when the WTRU receives the indication on a downlink (DL) channel. The WTRU may perform one or more measurements associated with the second BW configuration in response to the change of the receiver BW to the second BW configuration. The WTRU may transmit measurement information to a network entity. The WTRU may receive a DL transmission from the network using the second BW configuration.

Receiver bandwidth adaptation

Devices and techniques for determining a transmission time interval (TTI) duration and/or varying the TTI duration are contemplated. The TTI duration may be varied based on one or more of: the timing a transmission, the amount of data available for transmission, or the type of data to be transmitted. The TTI duration may be for one or more of: the Enhanced Physical Downlink Control Channel (EPDCCH), the Physical Downlink Shared Channel (PDSCH), and/or the Physical Uplink Control Channel (PUCCH). One or more different TTI durations may be achieved by modifying OFDM symbols per TTI and/or symbol duration (e.g., subcarrier spacing). One or more variable time-slot boundaries are contemplated. TTI duration per set of subcarriers is contemplated. One or more timing rules to deal with different processing time(s) are contemplated.

Systems and methods of operating with different transmission time interval (TTI) durations

Method and apparatuses for communication over an unlicensed band are provided herein. A method may comprise transmitting transport blocks in each slot of a plurality of slots and determining a Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request (HARQ) status for each of the transmitted transport blocks. The method may further comprise determining a weighting coefficient for each of the determined HARQ statuses and calculating, based on the determined HARQ statuses and weighting coefficients, a weighted average of the HARQ statuses for the transmitted transport blocks. The method may further comprise adjusting a Listen-Before-Talk (LBT) contention window size based on the calculated weighted average of the HARQ statuses.

Methods for contention window size adjustment in unlicensed spectrum

A method implemented by a Wireless Transmit/Receive Unit (WTRU) includes receiving a DeModulation Interference Measurement (DM-IM) resource, determining an interference measurement based on the DM-IM resource, and demodulating a received signal based on the interference measurement. An interference is suppressed based on the interference measurement. At least one DM-IM resource is located in a Physical Resource Block (PRB). The DM-IM resource is located in a PRB allocated for the WTRU. The DM-IM resource is a plurality of DM-IM resources which form a DM-IM pattern, and the DM-IM pattern is located on a Physical Downlink Shared Channel (PDSCH) and/or an enhanced Physical Downlink Shared Channel (E-PDSCH) of at least one Long Term Evolution (LTE) subframe. The DM-IM resources are different for different Physical Resource Blocks (PRB) in the LTE subframe. The DM-IM is located in a Long Term Evolution (LTE) Resource Block (RB), and the DM-IM pattern is adjusted.

Methods, systems and apparatuses for network assisted interference cancellation and/or suppression (NAICS) in long-term evolution (LTE) systems

Techniques for efficient downlink control with a large number of carriers and/or TTis are described. Techniques for blind decoding reduction may include making the search space and/or aggregation level of candidates for a first PDCCH/E-PDCCH associated with the characteristics of a second received PDCCH/E-PDCCH. Techniques may include embedding DCI for a set of serving cells and/or TTis in a PDSCH. DCI for a set of serving cells and/or TTis may be included in single PDCCH/E-PDCCH. To reduce overhead, carrier indicator field interpretation may be associated with the serving cell or TTI from which the PDCCH/E-PDCCH containing the downlink control information is received, or the group of cells or TTis to which the PDCCH/E-PDCCH containing the downlink control information belongs.

Downlink control signaling

Methods, systems and apparatuses for operation in long-term evolution (LTE) systems are provided, including a method implemented in a base station that may include receiving, from a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) via a first interface, a first message including radio capability information associated with the WTRU; transmitting, to a mobility management entity (MME) via a second interface, a second message including the radio capability information; receiving, from the MME via the second interface, a paging message including the radio capability information; and determining whether to page the WTRU in idle mode based on the radio capability information. Also provided is another method implemented by a WTRU in a vicinity of a dormant cell. This method may include any of: receiving, from a dormant cell, a signal; receiving, from a serving cell, a trigger to initiate measurement of one or more dormant cells; and measuring the signal.

Methods, systems and apparatuses for operation in long-term evolution (LTE) systems

Methods and apparatus for beam refinement are disclosed. A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) may be configured to receive configuration information. The configuration information may indicate an association between preambles, synchronization signal blocks (SSBs), reference signal (RS) sets, and physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) resources. The WTRU may be configured to receive a plurality of SSBs, determine a measurement of the received SSBs, and select an SSB based on the determined measurement. The WTRU may be configured to select and transmit a preamble using a first beam. The WTRU may be configured to receive a plurality of sets of RSs based on the transmitted preamble and determine a measurement of the received sets of RSs. The WTRU may be configured to select a RS based on the determined measurement of the received sets of RSs. The WTRU may be configured to transmit uplink data on a PUSCH using a second beam.

Methods and apparatus for msg-A transmission in two-step RACH

A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) may receive first measurement indication information indicating an activation of measurement reporting. The WTRU may determine a first set of resource elements (REs) based on the first measurement indication information. Further, the first set of REs may be associated with measurement-related time and frequency resources. Also, the WTRU may receive one or more measurement-related signals in the indicated first set of REs. Additionally, the WTRU may perform a measurement of each measurement-related signal. The WTRU may transmit, based on the first measurement indication information, a measurement report based on the measurement of each measurement-related signal. Further, the WTRU may receive second measurement indication information indicating a deactivation of measurement reporting. Also, the WTRU may receive indication information regarding a plurality of sets of REs via radio resource control (RRC) signaling, including at least the first set of REs and a second set of REs.
