A process for inhibiting the formation of surface haze on finished transparent soap bars involving the steps of: (a) providing a finished transparent soap bar; (b) providing a coating component selected from the group consisting of water, a C -C aliphatic alcohol, a polyol, and mixtures thereof; (c) applying the coating component onto the finished transparent soap bar to form a coated transparent soap bar; and (d) immediately packaging the coated transparent soap bar.

A soap bar useful for removing heavy amounts of soil from the skin is comprised of a fatty acid soap, a fatty acid ester of an isethionate salt, a nonionic sugar surfactant selected from the group consisting of an alkyl glucose ester, an aldobionamide, a gluconamide, a glyceramide, a glyceroglycolipid, a polyhydroxy fatty acid amide, an alkyl polyglycoside, and combinations thereof, an abrasive and, water.

A process for making a soften or fluid personal cleansing composition comprising: (a) providing a solid personal cleansing stock consisting essentially of an acyl isethionate; (b) heating the solid personal cleansing stock using microwave energy to form a softened or molten stock personal cleansing component; (c) introducing the softened or molten stock personal cleansing into a mixing apparatus; (d) introducing a personal cleansing adjuvant into the mixing apparatus; and (e) mixing the softened or molten personal cleansing stock and adjuvant in the mixing apparatus to form a softened or fluid personal cleansing composition.
