Known infrared radiators have a moulded body, which has a radiation surface that emits short-wave or medium-wave infrared radiation with a first peak emission wavelength. In order to provide, proceeding therefrom, an infrared radiator with an emissions spectrum which is well matched to absorption characteristics with a maximum around 2750 nm, and which furthermore can be operated with a high electrical power density, and with which the warming-up time in industrial applications, such as, for example, drying of inks, joining of plastics or bending of glass, can be shortened, according to the invention a radiation converter material is applied to at least a part of the radiation surface and, as a consequence of heating by the infrared radiation of the first peak emission wavelength, emits infrared radiation with a second peak emission wavelength which is of a longer wavelength than the first peak emission wavelength.

Infrared radiator and component emitting infrared radiation

Also disclosed is a device for treating a target, comprising an IR source that emits IR radiation from an emitter surface having a first surface area; and a set of elongate bodies consisting of one or more elongate bodies, each elongate body having an inlet, collectively called the inlets, and each elongate body having an outlet, collectively called the outlets; wherein the emitted IR radiation is coupled into the set of elongate bodies via the inlets and decoupled from the elongate body via the outlets over an outlet surface having a second surface area; and wherein the first surface area is greater than the second surface area.

Device for selectively heating a target with IR radiation

An infrared emitter is provided. The infrared emitter includes a substrate made of an electrically insulating material. The substrate includes a surface that contacts a printed conductor made of a resistor material that is electrically conducting and generates heat when current flows through it. The electrically insulating material includes an amorphous matrix component into which an additional component is embedded that absorbs in the spectral range of infrared radiation. At least a part of the surface is configured with a cover layer made of porous glass, whereby the printed conductor is embedded, at least in part, in the cover layer.

Infrared emitter

An infrared emitter that comprises a cladding tube made of quartz glass that surrounds a heating filament as an infrared radiation-emitting element that is connected via current feedthroughs to an electrical connector outside the cladding tube. To improve the service life and power density, the heating filament comprises a carrier plate with a surface made of an electrically insulating material, whereby the surface is covered by a printed conductor made of a material that generates heat when current flows through it.

Infrared radiating element

A radiator module is provided including: a first infrared radiator including a first radiator tube arranged in a radiator plane; and a second infrared radiator including a second radiator tube arranged in the radiator plane. A cladding tube is arranged between the first radiator tube and the second radiator tube. Each of the first radiator tube, the second radiator tube, and the cladding tube is provided with a reflective coating.

Radiator module and use of the radiator module

A method for producing a reflector on a reflector base made of glass is provided. According to the method, a metal-containing coating fluid is deposited on a coating surface and subjected to a burning-in treatment at a temperature below a softening temperature of the glass forming the reflector layer. Deposition of the coating fluid proceeds using a contactless method by inkjet technology. This makes it possible to deposit a reflector layer in a reproducible way and with tight tolerances having a specified layer thickness, as well as to create clean edges without a printing block or similar device. The coating fluid is moved by a print head equipped with a plurality of nozzles and is movable in a movement plane relative to the coating surface. The coating fluid is sprayed onto the coating surface by the print head under pressure and in the form of droplets emerging from the nozzles.

Method for producing a reflector on a reflector base made of glass

A device for drying and sintering metal-containing ink on a substrate enables homogeneous irradiation of the substrate, has compact construction, and is simple and economical to produce. Optical infrared radiators have a cylindrical radiator tube and a longitudinal axis, and emit radiation having an IR-B radiation component of at least 30% and an IR-C radiation component of at least 5% of total radiator output power. The radiators are arranged in a module with their longitudinal axes running parallel to each other and transverse to the transport direction. They thereby irradiate on the surface of the substrate an irradiation field, which is divided into a drying zone and a sintering zone arranged downstream of the drying zone in the transport direction. The drying zone is exposed to at least 15% less average irradiation density than the sintering zone along a center axis running in the transport direction.

Device for drying and sintering metal-containing ink on a substrate

Known devices for heat treatment comprise a process space surrounded by a furnace lining made of quartz glass, a heating facility, and a reflector. In order to provide, on this basis, a device for heat treatment having a furnace lining that can be manufactured easily and in variable shapes and enables rapid heating and cooling of the material to be heated and short process times and is characterized by its long service life, the invention proposes that the furnace lining comprises multiple wall elements having a side facing the process space and a side facing away from the process space, and that at least one of the wall elements comprises multiple quartz glass tubes that are connected to each other by means of an SiO-containing connecting mass.

Device for heat treatment

The invention relates to a process for producing a paste-like SiOcomposition using an SiOslip which allows simple intermediate storage and transport conditions without the processability of the slip to give the paste-like SiOcomposition being impaired thereby. According to the invention, it is for this purpose proposed that a homogeneous SiObase slip be subjected to a drying step to form a dry SiOcomposition and subsequently be processed further by means of a remoistening step to give the paste-like SiOcomposition, where the remoistening step comprises the addition of liquid to the dry SiOcomposition to form a paste-like kneadable SiOcomposition having a solids content of more than 85% by weight. The invention further relates to the use of a paste-like SiOcomposition as repair composition.

In a known method for bonding components made of material with a high silicic acid content by means of a substance to substance bond, a SiO-containing bonding mass is formed between connecting surfaces of the components. In order to provide for cost-efficient manufacture of a thermally stable composite, the invention proposes to generate a SiO-containing bonding mass that is generic with regard to the material with a high silicic acid content, comprising the following procedural steps: provision of a slurry containing amorphous SiOparticles; formation of a slurry mass between the connecting surfaces which are fixed in position with regard to each other; drying of the slurry mass; and solidification of the slurry mass by heating under formation of the SiO-containing bonding mass. A component assembly manufactured according to the method of the invention shows high temperature resistance and thermal fatigue resistance and can also be used in contamination-sensitive applications. The component assembly is characterized by an amorphous SiO-containing bonding mass, whose chemical composition is generic with regard to the material with the high silicic acid content of the basic material of the components, whereby the specific density of the SiO-containing bonding mass is at least 2.0 g/cm.

Method for bonding components made of material with a high silicic acid content

In a known component having a reflector layer, the surface of a base body of quartz glass is covered at least in part with a reflector layer. Starting from this, to provide a component, particularly for use in lamp and reflector manufacture, which is equipped with an efficient, chemically and thermally resistant and, nevertheless, inexpensive reflector layer, it is suggested according to the invention that an SiOcover layer should be provided which acts as a diffuse reflector and consists of at least partly opaque quartz glass.
