Disclosed is a geodetic target object comprising at least one reflector surface, a receive channel with a detector () for receiving electromagnetic radiation (ES) transmitted by a measuring unit (&#x2033;), and a transmit channel with a radiation source ('). The associated transmission port and/or reception port is/are integrated into the reflector surface or is/are embodied so as to adjoin the reflector surface such that radiation (RS) that is modulated for transmitting data can be transmitted in the direction of the measuring unit (&#x2033;) within the cross section (&#x2033;) of the radiation (ES) generated by the measuring unit (&#x2033;).

Geodetic target object and surveying system with a structural integration of transmitting channels and receiving channels into a common unit with a reflector component

Disclosed are a method and a system for determining the position of a receiver unit. According to said method, modulated radiation is generated by at least one radiation projector, and a number of reference points, from among which reference points lying within a detection range of the receiver unit are detected, are projected by means of said modulated radiation. Positional data, particularly location data and/or orientation data, is derived for the receiver unit from the radiation of said reference points.
