A method and apparatus for treatment of unburnts utilizing oxygen carrier particles, which may be CLOU particles, oxidized in an air reactor and transmitted to a post oxidation reactor as shown in FIG.. A flue gas stream containing unburnts is injected into post oxidation reactor wherein unburnts are oxidized by oxygen supplied by oxygen carriers. Reduced oxygen carriers are separated from post oxidation reactor and transmitted back to air reactor for re-oxidation. An embodiment may include a post oxidation chamber, which may be catalytic, receiving a portion of flue gas stream and oxygen from a flue gas stream of post oxidation reactor.

Methods and apparatus for oxidation of unburnts

A boiler system () comprises a boiler () for combusting a fuel in the presence of a gas containing oxygen gas, and a gas cleaning system (). The boiler system () comprises a compression device being operative for pressurizing at least a portion of the carbon dioxide rich flue gas from which at least a portion of the contaminant content has been removed, and a carbon dioxide supply duct () being operative for forwarding at least a portion of the pressurized carbon dioxide rich flue gas to at least one gas cleaning device () for being utilized as a utility gas therein.

Method of cleaning a carbon dioxide rich flue gas and a boiler system

A gas cleaning system () for cleaning a carbon dioxide rich flue gas containing sulphur dioxide generated in a boiler () comprises a first gas cleaning device () being operative for removing at least 80% of the sulphur dioxide content of the flue gas generated in the boiler (), thereby generating a partly cleaned carbon dioxide rich flue gas, and a second gas cleaning device (), being separate from the first gas cleaning device () and being operative for receiving at least a portion of the partly cleaned carbon dioxide rich flue gas that passed through the first gas cleaning device (). The second gas cleaning device () is operative for removing at least a portion of the water content of the partly cleaned carbon dioxide rich flue gas by means of cooling the partly cleaned carbon dioxide rich flue gas to condense water there from.

Method and a device for cleaning a carbon dioxide rich flue gas

A method and apparatus for treatment of unburnts in a flue streamof a chemical looping combustion system. Unburnts present in the flue streamare treated after COis removed from the flue stream in a gas processing unit. As shown in FIG., oxidation of the unburnts occurs primarily in an air reactorin the presence of air, allowing the system to maintain COcapture effectiveness and removing the need for creation of enriched or pure oxygen
