The sensor module has four internal terminals that include a first ground terminal, a second ground terminal, an output signal terminal, and a power terminal, three external terminals are connected to the first ground terminal, the output signal terminal, and the power terminal, respectively, a sensor main body portion is obtained by molding the sensor module to which the external terminals are connected integrally in a insulating resin, and a connector connecting portion and a mount portion are molded integrally with the sensor module in this sensor main body portion. With this system, different orders of arrangement of the three external terminals may be formed while insuring that capacitors may be mounted between certain terminals without spanning other wiring patterns.

Method of manufacturing a magnetic detection apparatus

The invention provides a magnetic detector that exerts no influence on detection accuracy of a magnetic movable body, being a detected body, even if relative positions of magnetic resistance elements and a magnet are out of alignment due to variation occurred in manufacturing process. A magnetic detector includes: a magnetic field detection part constructed of at least two magnetic resistance elements; a magnet for applying a magnetic field to the magnetic resistance elements; a magnetic movable body for changing the magnetic field that is generated by the magnet; and a processing circuit part for outputting a signal based on the change in resistance values of the magnetic resistance elements due to the change in the magnetic field; and in which a shape of the magnetic resistance elements is symmetric with respect to a point.

Magnetic detection apparatus with resin infiltration prevention

There is provided a rotation information detecting apparatus which suppresses noise superimposed on an output line and can prevent detection of erroneous rotation information. A periodic changing magnetic field is applied to a detection element according to the rotation of a rotation object, and rotation information is detected. A signal processing circuit includes an output circuit for generating a binary output signal changing between a high level and a low level according to the rotation of the rotation object. The output circuit includes an output transistor, an output line connected to the output transister, a power supply terminal for the output transistor, and a noise suppression circuit connected between the output line and the power supply terminal a power supply terminal. The noise suppression circuit includes a diode and a current limiting resistor.

A magnetic detection apparatus can accurately detect the rotational position of a magnetic moving member even when intervals between adjacent teeth formed thereon and the circumferential width of each tooth itself are both small and when an opposing distance between the magnetic moving member and first and second magnetoresistive segments is large. A processing circuit is arranged apart from the magnetic moving member on a plane thereof, which is formed on its periphery with the teeth. The processing circuit has a bridge circuit including the first magnetoresistive segment and the second magnetoresistive segment. A magnet applies a magnetic field to the first and second magnetoresistive segments, and to the magnetic moving member in a direction of an axis of rotation thereof. The second magnetoelectric conversion element is arranged substantially on a center line passing through the center of the magnet on a line in opposition to the magnetic moving member when viewed along the direction of the axis of rotation of the magnetic moving member, so that a differential output can be obtained from the outputs of the first magnetoelectric conversion element and the second magnetoelectric conversion element.

A magnetoelectric converting element is constructed by four or more magnetic resistance segments symmetrically arranged at a predetermined pitch with respect to the central line of a magnet perpendicular to the rotating direction of a magnetic moving body. The magnetizing direction of the magnet is set to the direction perpendicular to the direction opposed to the magnetic moving body. Further, 0.7P&#x2266;X&#x2266;P and P&#x2266;Y&#x2266;1.6P are set when the size of the magnet in the moving direction of the magnetic moving body is set to X and the size of the magnet in the direction opposed to the magnetic moving body is set to Y and the pitch of the magnetic resistance segments at both ends constituting the magnetoelectric converting element is set to P.

A magnetic detector capable of being easily assembled and diminishing fluctuation in magnetic detection accuracy includes: magnetic resistance elements whose resistance value changes according to change in magnetic field generated by rotation of a multi-polarized rotor; an IC formed by integrating a signal processing circuit section that outputs a signal corresponding to multi-polarization of the rotor based on change in resistance values of the magnetic resistance elements; a lead frame mounted with the IC and connected to an external output terminal for externally outputting an output signal from the signal processing circuit section; a magnet applying a bias magnetic field to the magnetic resistance elements; and a magnetic guide for correcting lines of magnetic force from the magnet. The IC, lead frame and magnetic guide are preliminarily assembled to serve as a first assembly, and the magnet and external output terminal are preliminarily assembled to serve as a second assembly.

Six magneto-resistance segments are formed by film-forming on a signal processing circuit part consisting of an IC chip and are disposed in a predetermined rotation direction of a magnetic moving body, symmetrically about the centerline of a magnet perpendicular to that rotation direction. Two pairs of magneto-resistance segments, whose pitch centers are positioned symmetrically with respect to the centerline of the magnet, form first and second bridge circuits, and the remaining pair of magneto-resistance segments, which has its pitch center on the centerline of the magnet, forms a third bridge circuit.

A method of manufacturing a rotation sensor is provided. In the method, an insert conductor having a predetermined shape and having at least a connector terminal and a conversion device terminal is provided. The insert conductor is insert-molded in a resin base such that at least the connector terminal and the conversion device terminal of the insert conductor remain exposed from the resin base. A resin connector part is molded such that the resin connector part encircles the connector terminal. Also, a magnetoelectric conversion device is connected to the conversion device terminal of the insert conductor, and positioning parts are provided at a tip of the resin base. In addition, the magnetoelectric conversion device is sandwiched between the positioning parts to securely hold the magnetoelectric conversion device, and a press fit part is formed at the tip of the resin base. Also, an output terminal of the magnetoelectric conversion device is pressed against the conversion device terminal of the insert conductor with the press fit part.
