Implement positioning control system for construction machines

It takes high skill to achieve maximum efficiency of construction equipment under the ever changing working conditions. The automatic implement control system helps maximize operator efficiency and convenience by allowing a predetermined angle, lift and/or tilt position of a work implement (40) to be stored in the memory of the controller (3). In operation, the implement (40) may be moved from that stored predetermined position to perform other functions. In an automatic mode, the controller (3) can return the implement (40) to that predetermined position at any time during the work cycle. A valve (15-70) is provided for selectively switching between manual and automatic modes.

Automatic implement position control system

A method of and apparatus for reducing smoke emitted from a diesel engine are disclosed. The apparatus comprises: a trap for trapping black smoke particles which is disposed within the exhaust system of the engine, the trap including a ceramic trap assembly having a honeycomb structure in which a catalyst which enables lowering of the combustion temperature of black smoke is carried on internal passage walls; a pressure sensor provided at the inlet of the trap; an engine speed sensor; a butterfly valve provided in the intake system of the engine; and a combination of a controller and an actuator for the butterfly valve. In this apparatus and method the controller obtains a specified exhaust pressure range in the trap on the basis of a signal from the engine speed sensor, compares an exhaust pressure signal from the pressure sensor with the specified exhaust pressure range, and controls the actuator so that the actuator controls the degree of opening of the butterfly valve so that the exhaust pressure inside the trap is maintained within the specified exhaust pressure range. By this means, black smoke particles can be controllably burned by means of exhaust gas without causing any engine trouble. Since the trap can be regenerated with the ceramic trap assembly left in place in, for example, a construction machine, it is possible to provide a diesel engine smoke reducing apparatus which is superior in both serviceability and durability.

Method of and apparatus for reducing engine smoke emissions

An apparatus which is disposed in an exhaust system of a diesel engine for treating particulate emissions contained in exhaust gas is disclosed. The apparatus comprises a splittable casing body including an inlet-side casing portion and an outlet-side casing portion, an inlet pipe secured to the inlet-side casing portion, an outlet pipe secured to the outlet-side casing portion, a partition plate detachably retained between the inlet- and outlet-side casing portions such as to divide the inside of the casing body into two compartments, and at least one filter assembly detachably mounted in an opening provided in the partition plate. The filter assembly is defined by a honeycomb-type ceramic filter which is accommodated in a metallic casing and surrounding by a cushioning material, and which has a catalyst carried on its internal passage wall. The catalyst enables a lowering in the combustion temperature of the particulate emissions. The ceramic filter is detachable from the partition plate together with the metallic casing in one unit. Accordingly, it is possible to replace the filter with ease and to vary appropriately the number of filters in accordance with the displacement volume of the engine concerned.

This invention is composed of detecting means for detecting operating condition of a vehicle, operation data recording device loaded on a vehicle for arithmetic processing detected data to write into external memory unit, and external data processing device (external computer) for processing data stored in external memory unit. And of data detected by the detecting means, numeral value data such as speed, engine r.p.m. or the like are displayed to external display device, and operation or non-operation data are processed arithmetic to data for memorizing at arithmetic processing portion to be written into external memory unit. While, data obtained from other than detecting means are input by external input portion of the operation data recording device to be written into external memory unit. Thus input data and parameter stored in inner memory is enabled to accesse and to debug at any time through connector for maintenance. After work in terminated, data for managing can be input to make external data processing device read data stored in the external memory unit.

Operation data recording system

This invention provides a system for recording operation data of a machine, wherein a program for converting signals stored through a sensor or measuring means into operation data in conformity with the increase or alteration of the sensor or measuring means due to the operation status of the machine or to the type of the component of the machine is preliminarily stored in one or separate card-type external memory or other transportable external memory. The terminal of the system is designed to allow an connection of various kinds of the sensor or measuring means. Accordingly, it is possible to conduct processing and recording of various kinds of operation data by exchanging the external memory stored with a prescribed operation data-processing program, or by changing the writing of the program. It is also possible to record operation data in the external memory stored with the operation data-processing program after the program is read out to simplify the operation of an operator.

Operation data-recording system for a machine

A relief and make-up valve assembly connects first and second passages in a fluid pressure device and includes a hollow housing having an outer valve seat communicating with the first and second passages, an outer valve member for relieving fluid from the first passage to the second passage in response to a preselected high pressure in the first passage, the outer valve member having an inner valve seat, an inner valve member for relieving fluid from the second passage to the first passage in response to a pressure in the second passage above that in the first passage, a first spring for resiliently urging the outer valve member against the outer valve seat, and a second spring for resiliently urging the inner valve member against the inner valve seat.

Relief and make-up valve assembly

A relief and make-up valve assembly is connected to first and second fluid pressure passages in a fluid pressure device. The valve assembly includes a housing of a hollow cylindrical form which communicates with the passages, a valve axially movable in the housing, a piston partitioning the interior of the housing into a low pressure chamber and a back pressure chamber, and a plunger biased by the piston against the valve to move the valve to an opened position away from a valve seat. The valve assembly controls the level of pressure in the first pressure passage by unseating the valve to relieve a preselected pressure from the first pressure passage or alternately to build up a pressure therein.
