There is provided a metal oxygen battery which is capable of obtaining superior batter capacity when starting use from charging. In the metal oxygen batteryincluding a positive electrode, which includes an oxygen-storing material and lithium oxide, and uses oxygen as an active substance, a negative electrodecapable of absorbing and discharging lithium ions, and an electrolyte layerinterposed between the positive electrodeand the negative electrode, in which the positive electrode, the negative electrode, and the electrolyte layerare hermetically accommodated in a case, the oxygen-storing material has an oxygen amount stored at a start of charge time diluted.

Metal oxygen battery

A crystalline AlHis ball-milled in a hydrogen atmosphere while applying a force of 10 G to 30 G (in which G is gravitational acceleration). The milling time is more than 10 minutes and less than 60 minutes. The hydrogen storage material thus produced has a structure containing a plurality of matrix phases and a grain boundary phase disposed between the matrix phases. The matrix phases comprise Al and have a side length of 1 to 200 nm, and the grain boundary phase comprises an amorphous phase and contains hydrogen in the state of a solid solution.

Hydrogen storage material and method for producing the same

A mixed powder of AlHand MgHis ball-milled in a hydrogen atmosphere while applying force of 5 G through 30 G (in which G is gravitational acceleration), and the thus-obtained milled product is dehydrogenated to produce a hydrogen storage material. Organometallic complex and method for producing the same

An hydrogen tank filling apparatus includes a first hydrogen supply pipe for supplying hydrogen substantially at an atmospheric temperature from a high-pressure hydrogen storage tank to a hydrogen tank, a second hydrogen supply pipe for supplying cooled hydrogen from the high-pressure hydrogen storage tank to the hydrogen tank, and an internal tank temperature measuring unit for measuring the temperature inside the hydrogen tank. The first hydrogen supply pipe and the second hydrogen supply pipe are selectively switched by a control unit, depending on changes in the temperature inside the hydrogen tank.

Apparatus for and method of filling hydrogen tank with hydrogen

A hydrogen storage tank comprises a hydrogen adsorbent accommodated in a pressure-resistant container. The hydrogen adsorbent is capable of adsorbing and retaining hydrogen gas of a volume exceeding an occupation volume occupied by the hydrogen adsorbent itself. As for the hydrogen adsorbent, the amount of endothermic heat, which is generated when the adsorbed hydrogen gas is released, is not more than 16 kJ per mol of hydrogen molecules. The hydrogen adsorbent is prevented from leaking outside of the pressure-resistant container by a filter.

Hydrogen storage tank

A heater is disposed in contact with a hydrogen storage unit filled with a hydrogen absorption material. The heater includes at least one combustion chamber which includes a catalyst carrier and in which a combustible gas is burned, a combustible gas burning catalyst carried on the catalyst carrier, at least one combustible gas introduction chamber adjoining the combustion chamber with its chamber wall interposed therebetween, a plurality of combustible gas inlets disposed in a dispersed manner in the chamber wall to permit the combustion chamber and the introduction chamber to communicate with each other, and a combustion gas outlet communicating with the combustion chamber. Thus, the degree of uniformity of a temperature profile is decreased.

Heater for hydrogen storage system

To produce a hydrogen absorbing alloy powder which is an aggregate of alloy particles each including a metal matrix and added-components, an aggregate of metal matrix particles and an aggregate of added-component particles are used, and mechanical alloying is carried out. In this case, the relationship between the particle size D of the metal matrix particles and the particle sizeof the added-component particles is set at d&#x2266;D/6. Thus, the milling time can be shortened remarkably.

Hydrogen absorbing alloy powder and hydrogen storing tank for mounting in a vehicle

To produce high-pressure hydrogen, water and a hydrogen-generating material (MgH) which reacts with water to generate hydrogen are weighed so that a target high hydrogen pressure is generated in a high-pressure container. Then, the hydrogen-generating material is introduced into the high-pressure container through its supply port, and water is introduced into the high-pressure container through the supply port. Thereafter, the supply port is closed, thereby causing a reaction between the hydrogen-generating material and the water, so that the hydrogen pressure in the high-pressure container reaches a target high hydrogen pressure.

Process for producing high-pressure hydrogen and system for producing high-pressure hydrogen

A hydrogen storage tank has an outer cylinder and a cylindrical hydrogen storage module within the outer cylinder spaced apart from an inner peripheral surface of the outer cylinder to provide a hydrogen passage therebetween. The cylindrical hydrogen storage module includes a lamination having a plurality of hydrogen storage units filled with powdery hydrogen absorption material and a hydrogen absorption and desorption surface on an entire outer peripheral surface, while interposing a heating/cooling element between ones of adjacent units. First and second main passages penetrate the lamination in a lamination direction of the units, and permit heating fluid and cooling fluid to flow therethrough. Sub passages branch from the main passages and extend over within each of the heating/cooling elements.

A fuel cell power system practical for use in a vehicle includes a fuel cell, a first hydrogen storage vessel having a first hydrogen absorbing material storing and releasing hydrogen, a catalytic combustor that heats the first hydrogen storage vessel so as to release hydrogen in order to supply hydrogen to the fuel cell, and a second hydrogen storage vessel having a second hydrogen absorbing material storing and releasing hydrogen and has a hydrogen release temperature that is lower than that of the first hydrogen absorbing material, the second hydrogen storage vessel releasing hydrogen as a fuel for the catalytic combustor under heating by waste heat from the fuel cell. Since the catalytic combustor can generate high temperature heat, a hydrogen absorbing material having a high hydrogen release temperature and a high hydrogen storage capacity per unit weight can be used as the first hydrogen absorbing material.

To produce a hydrogen absorbing alloy powder, a starting powder and a plurality of balls are thrown into a container of a ball mill, and then, the inside of the container is maintained in a hydrogen atmosphere to conduct a mechanical alloying.

To produce a hydrogen absorbing alloy powder which is an aggregate of alloy particles each including a metal matrix and added-components, an aggregate of metal matrix particles and an aggregate of added-component particles are used, and mechanical alloying is carried out. In this case, the relationship between the particle size D of the metal matrix particles and the particle size of the added-component particles is set at d&lE;D/6. Thus, the milling time can be shortened remarkably.
