A lubricating oil additive composition contains a borated succinimide derivative and an amino alcohol compound. A lubricating oil composition containing the lubricating oil additive composition is excellent in high-temperature detergency and base value retention (long-drain capabilities) even though a blended content of a metal detergent is low and an ash content is small.

Provided is a detergent-dispersant for a lubricant having excellent detergency and dispersibility effects. A lubricating oil for a compression-type refrigerator using a hydrofluorocarbon refrigerant including a polyvinyl ether-based compound containing in the molecule an alkylene glycol unit or a polyoxyalkylene glycol unit and a polyvinyl ether unit and having a molecular weight in the range of 300 to 3,000, and a refrigeration apparatus using the lubricating oil. The present invention can provide a lubricating oil for a compression-type refrigerator having good compatibility in the atmosphere of a hydrofluorocarbon and a high viscosity index, and a refrigeration apparatus using such a lubricating oil.

The present invention provides lubricating oil for a compression refrigerator, characterized by including an alkylene glycol or polyoxy alkylene glycol unit and a vinyl ether unit in a molecule and containing a polyvinyl ether compound having a molecular weight of 300 to 3,000. The lubricating oil for a compression refrigerator has a high viscosity index and excellent compatibility under a natural refrigerant atmosphere such as carbon dioxide.

Provided are a borosuccinimide compound obtained through reaction of (a) a succinic acid/anhydride substituted with an alkyl or alkenyl group having a number-average molecular weight of from 200 to 5,000, (b) a polyalkylene-polyamine of which at least 5 mol % has a terminal cyclic structure, and (c) a boron compound; and a succinimide compound obtained through reaction of (A) a succinic acid/anhydride substituted with an alkyl or alkenyl group having a molecular weight of from 200 to 5,000, with (D) a hydrocarbon-substituted polyalkylene-polyamine. These compounds are stable even at high temperatures and have good high-temperature detergency, and they are useful for ashless detergent dispersants having the ability to disperse fine particles. Also provided are a mixture of any of these compounds and a specific ester derivative; a lubricant additive and a fuel oil additive comprising the mixture as the essential ingredient; and a lubricant and a fuel oil composition containing the additive.

The pyridine compounds and salts thereof exhibit a strong insecticidal and miticidal activity and are low in residuality and accumulativity and are thus useful as insecticides and miticides for the control of pests in agriculture and horticulture.
