Electro-stimulator () includes electrode pad () that outputs current to provide electrical stimulation to a muscle, angular velocity sensor () that detects information on motion of a waist, and controller () that adjusts magnitude of the current output from electrode pad () based on a result of the detection by angular velocity sensor (). Electro-stimulator () further includes belt () that supports electrode pad (), angular velocity sensor (), and controller (). Thus, current flows through an abdomen, thereby providing electrical stimulation to the abdomen, and enabling proper training of abdominal muscles.

The human body stimulation apparatus comprises a left detection unit, a right detection unit, a determination unit, a control unit, a right stimulation unit and a left stimulation unit. The detection units generate a detection signal according to a walking motion of a human body. The determination unit divides the walking motion of one walking cycle into multiple walking stages on the basis of the detection signal. The determination unit determines that the walking motion is stopped on the basis of at least one duration time of the walking stages. The control unit controls the magnitude of the stimulation that the right stimulation unit and the left stimulation unit apply to the human body on the basis of the determination results of the determination unit.

A rocking type exercising apparatus includes a movable unit on which a user rides, a driving unit for causing the movable unit to perform a rocking motion, and a rocking motion changing unit for changing the rocking motion of the movable unit driven to rock by the driving unit. The rocking type exercising apparatus also includes a display unit, responsive to the change in the rocking motion caused by the rocking motion changing unit, for displaying loads to be applied to a plurality of body regions of the user.

In a shaver having provided on an upper end portion of a main body thereof a head portion comprising a razor having an outer blade and an inner blade, a front cross section of the shaver has a shape narrowed at a substantially center portion in its up and down direction, and a side cross section of the shaver has a substantially S-shape, in order to increase the contact area between the main body and the palm, to improve fit feeling, to make it hard to slip, and to finely adjust the angle of the razor against the skin without moving the wrist.

A wedge-shaped tilt provider is attached in contact with the bottom surface of a seat and the upper surface of a seat connection member of a rocking mechanism to set the seat to an initial inclined position relative to a reference position. By setting the seat to a forwardly inclined position from a horizontal position where the seated surface of the seat is set horizontal, the user straddling the seat can increase the amount of muscle activity of his or her rectus muscle of abdomen, or abdominal muscle. Further, by setting the seat to a rearwardly inclined position, the user straddling the seat can increase the amount of muscle activity of his or her back muscle such as paraspinal muscle. With use of a rocking type exercising apparatus having the above construction, a stress of exercise simulating horseback riding is given to the user by changing the position of the seat relative to the reference position by a certain degree of inclination, while rocking the seat which the user straddles, whereby the user is selectively provided with an exercising effect onto a specific site of his or her body.

An ultrasonic hair curling device capable of applying ultrasonic vibration efficiently to hairs for effective hair styling in a short time. The device includes a housing, an ultrasonic generator incorporated in the housing for generating ultrasonic vibrations, and a horn connected to receive and transmit the ultrasonic vibrations. The horn is formed at its end with a hollow barrel which projects from the housing for receiving therearound a strand of hair to be curled. The hollow barrel is provided at a portion intermediates at its longitudinal ends with a hair winding zone of which cross-section is smaller than the other portion of the hollow barrel. The hair winding zone of the reduced cross section can vibrate at an amplitude larger than at the front end of the barrel for applying the ultrasonic vibrations efficiently to the hair and making the hair curling effectively.

Ultrasonic hair curling device

A bioinstrumentation device utilizes an optical fiber for measuring biological parameters such as heart rate and breathing rate of a human subject. The device utilizes an optical fiber as a sensing element for sensing minute load variations resulting from the heart beating and breathing of the human subject and therefore indicative of the heart rate and the breathing rate. The device includes a base and a movable member movable relative to the base. The movable member is connected to a support structure for the human body and receives the minute load variations from the living body so as to vibrate in response thereto. Disposed between the base and the movable member is the optical fiber which is capable of resiliently deforming with changing characteristic of its internal reflectivity. A light source is disposed adjacent to the input end of the optical fiber to feed a light through the optical fiber. The light emitted from the optical fiber is received by a light sensor disposed adjacent to the output end of the optical fiber. An analyzing circuit is provided to analyze a variation in the amount of the light received at the light sensor due to the changing internal reflectivity of the optical fiber being deformed so as to determine the biological parameter. A retainer structure is included to keep the optical fiber bent with an initial curvature such that the optical fiber is caused to deform with a varying curvature from the initial curvature in response to minute load variations indicative of the biological parameters to be measured.
